Job description

The Ingredient Sales Manager – Ingredient Sales is responsible for managing the Bulk Sales process, including Forecasting, Demand Generation, Managing Pricing process, Sample Orders, and Order fulfillment. They also will generate programs and activities to drive OSI’s Ingredient Bulk Sales in a sustainable manner to deliver profit.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Grow the overall Bulk sales of organic herbs and spices within the existing customer base, new prospects generated from sales activities including: cold/warm calling, e-mails, Marketing e-mails and face to face meetings. 
    • 50% - High level of autonomy to make decisions managing current accounts and developing new accounts, product sales for each account, creating Contract programs when deemed appropriate accounts. 
    • Manage established profit Margins and pricing based on market demand.
  • Manage, coach and train Sales Fulfillment person (direct report) and Customer Service staff on Bulk Business, process flow and sales procedures within the department as well as other OSI departments. 
    • 20% - Manage and interact with other Bulk support teams in a positive and supportive manner. 
  • On a monthly basis work closely with the production team and purchasing to assist with the proper forecasting of the anticipated sales of spices and blends to prevent shorts or out of stocks and minimizing lost sales. 
    • 10% - Make independent decisions on how to interact with Production Team effectively anticipating Sales needs to satisfy upcoming sales.
  • Sales analytics – Analyze sales data to forecast and identify the sales activities that generate quick sales, the highest margin sales and long term contract sales to ensure full sales funnel and consistent flow of revenue.
    • 5% - High level of discretion to analyze data to project future sales and identify sales opportunities working cross functionally with Purchasing and Production.
  • Conduct quarterly reviews of the accounts with management by reviewing the ROI on investment of time and profitability.
    • 5% - Be accountable for conducting reviews of the business quarterly to CSMO. 
  • Work closely with QA Team and Operations Team. Ensure the COA’s are up to date and obtain customers’ approvals on COAs prior to selling. 
    • 5% - Autonomous management obtaining COA’s to satisfy customer order requirements with QA. 
  • Work with marketing/web-master to automate and optimize on-line bulk sales. 
    • 5% - Autonomous management of bulk sales online. Quarterly pricing revisions implemented with COO to maintain margins. 

WORK EXPERIENCE/JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Strong ERP (NetSuite preferred) and MS Office (Excel) skills
  • Strong Sales and Organization skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • High level of Communication skills both in person and electronically 
  • High School Degree or GED
  • Ability to understand and follow instructions in English
  • Ability to succeed in a multi-task, fast paced/dynamic environment
