Anesthesiologist Physician, UChicago Medicine Medical Group

UChicago Medicine Medical Group seeks an exceptional Anesthesiologist Physician for UChicago Medicine Ingalls Memorial, located in Harvey, Illinois and UChicago Medicine at Ingalls Tinley Park Same Day Surgery, located in Tinley Park, Illinois.
Anesthesiologist Physician Roles and Responsibilities
  • Evaluating patients' vital signs, medical histories, allergies, current medication use, and other risk factors
  • Supervising nurses when they administer anesthesia to patients before procedures
  • Monitoring vital signs of the patient during surgery and adjusting anesthetics as needed
  • Maintaining detailed notes on patient treatment, dosing, and vital signs
  • Continuing care after surgery to control the level of pain relief and consciousness
  • Communicating continuing care instructions to specialists and nurses
  • Case types include:
    • General surgery, Ortho, Spine, OB/GYN, Ophthalmology, Urology
    • Limited healthy pediatrics at Ambulatory Surgery Center, rare cranis, no trauma
  • Anesthesia Care Team (ACT) model, in which an anesthesiologist concurrently supervises non-physician anesthetists and/or anesthesiology residents at both UChicago Medicine Ingalls Memorial Hospital and Tinley Park Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC)

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Medical License in Illinois
  • Board certified or Board Eligible in Specified Area of Medical Specialty
  • 3-5 years of experience is preferred
  • Completed a US Residency Program

Compensation & Benefits Overview
UChicago Medicine is committed to transparency in compensation and benefits. The pay range provided reflects the anticipated wage or salary reasonably expected to be offered for the position.
The pay range is based on a full-time equivalent (1.0 FTE) and is reflective of current market data, reviewed on an annual basis. Compensation offered at the time of hire will vary based on candidate qualifications and experience and organizational considerations, such as internal equity. Pay ranges for employees subject to Collective Bargaining Agreements are negotiated by the medical center and their respective union.
