Job description

The Job Site Coordinator supports the successful execution of underground conduit placement operations for utility distribution electric line work. This role provides on-site coordination and oversight of subcontractor and subcontractor (resource partner) crews (including directional drilling) to ensure work is performed in accordance with approved staking, project plans, permit requirements, private locate obligations, and company and utility standards. The Job Site Coordinator serves as a key field liaison between internal leadership, the subcontractor (resource partner), investor owned utilities, cooperatives, and municipal utilities, and project management to promote safety, quality, production, and compliance. Job Description: Field Coordination & Oversight: Coordinate and oversee daily conduit placement and directional drilling operations to ensure installation aligns with approved staking, design intent, and project plans. Provide day-to-day field coordination, communicate expectations, and support issue resolution to maintain productivity and quality. Locates, Permits & Compliance: Manage and submit private locate requests and coordinate with applicable state 811 / one-call systems as required. Assist with defining, communicating, and enforcing permit conditions, traffic control requirements, and other field compliance obligations in accordance with utility and third-party standards. Utility & Subcontractor Liaison: Serve as the primary field liaison between Infratech, the directional drilling subcontractor (resource partner), and utility representatives on job coordination and execution matters. Support pre construction meetings, workload calls, and field coordination discussions as required. Quality Control & Constructability: Perform project walk-downs to verify contractors are leaving service conduit in the correct locations (including conduit placement for new meter conversions) and that installation meets staking, permit, and utility requirements. Identify conflicts, access issues, or constructability concerns and communicate findings to project leadership. Production Tracking & Reporting: Track daily progress, production, and completion status of drilling and conduit installation activities. Review and proof daily production reports, including footage installed, conduit sizes, quantities, and relevant notes. Communicate progress, issues, and field conditions to the Project Manager and Job Site Manager. Damage Documentation & Claims Coordination: Support damage documentation and reporting requirements, including timely collection of photos, field notes, and location details. Coordinate communication between field teams, subcontractors, and internal claims/insurance contacts as directed. Assist with arranging and tracking repair activities or restoration work associated with damages in accordance with customer and project requirements. Safety & Emergency Support: Promote safe work practices and compliance with company, utility, and regulatory standards. Participate in job briefings, hazard identification, and corrective actions as needed. Support urgent work and storm restoration activities as required. Job Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent required; additional technical training preferred. 3–6+ years of experience in utility distribution construction, underground conduit installation, directional drilling coordination, or related field operations. Working knowledge of staking/prints, underground construction practices, and field quality expectations for conduit placement. Experience coordinating private locates and working with state 811 / one-call systems; familiarity with utility-specific locate and permit requirements preferred. Ability to read and interpret staking sheets, permit conditions, traffic control plans, and construction documentation. Strong communication skills and ability to coordinate between subcontractors, utility representatives, and project leadership. Proficiency with basic reporting tools (mobile apps, email, Excel or similar) preferred. Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to job sites as required. Physical Requirements: Ability to work primarily in field environments, including active construction sites and rights-of-way. Ability to walk over uneven terrain and work outdoors in varying weather conditions. Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) including hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, and protective footwear. Ability to lift and carry tools or materials up to approximately 25–50 pounds with assistance as needed. Ability to work extended hours, weekends, and emergency response events as required
