Job Summary
This position is responsible for management oversight of CleanSlate's AWS Cloud Infrastructure team as well as hands-on technical leadership in the delivery of cloud infrastructure, network modernization, cloud security, hybrid cloud, and Infrastructure as Code consulting projects. Candidate must have experience as a senior cloud infrastructure architect, network engineering leader, or AWS practice lead as well as experience leading and managing technical teams. The ideal candidate has several years of experience designing and implementing enterprise AWS landing zones, network architectures, security baselines, hybrid connectivity patterns, cloud governance models, and reusable infrastructure automation. Candidate must thrive in a fast-paced, forward-thinking work environment. Must be fully skilled in AWS infrastructure delivery, client-facing architecture, technical design documentation, resource management, utilization, quality standards, and employee development.
This is a full-time salaried position located within a 50-mile radius of Carmel, IN, with the ability to be in our Carmel, Indiana office multiple times per week and travel up to 10% of the time.
As part of the CleanSlate Cloud Practice you will have the opportunity to work closely with CleanSlate and Client technical teams to deliver mission critical solutions.

  • Manage a team of AWS cloud infrastructure and network engineering resources to ensure effective delivery of consulting services.
  • Serve as a hands-on technical escalation point for AWS landing zone, network architecture, cloud security, hybrid infrastructure, and Infrastructure as Code delivery.
  • Collaborate and provide technical leadership to clients to leverage cloud services within our strategic Enterprise accounts.
  • Represent CleanSlate in face-to-face client meetings and drive the overall delivery quality for the client.
  • Build client relationships and represent CleanSlate as a trusted technical advisor for scalable, secure, next-generation cloud infrastructure solutions.
  • Lead cross-functional implementation teams to deliver AWS infrastructure, network modernization, and data center migration solutions to clients.
  • Contribute to the technical community through practical blogs, solution patterns, conference talks, or client-facing technical content as appropriate.
  • Organize and provide training and development plan/opportunities for team members.
Responsibilities
  • Provide management and direction for the AWS Cloud Infrastructure team, including resource assignments, utilization planning, employee development, mentoring, and performance feedback.
  • Establish and enforce technical quality standards for architecture designs, estimates, implementation patterns, documentation, runbooks, and Infrastructure as Code deliverables.
  • Define and operationalize AI-assisted delivery workflows using Kiro and other AI engineering tools, such as AI-accelerated IaC generation, automated architecture documentation, AI-driven review, and reusable solution patterns, to measurably improve delivery velocity and consistency.
  • Serve as a senior escalation point for complex AWS infrastructure, networking, security, governance, hybrid connectivity, identity, and automation issues.
  • Lead teams to design and build AWS landing zones, multi-account environments, cloud network architectures, security baselines, hybrid connectivity patterns, and cloud operating models.
  • Guide clients through infrastructure modernization, network modernization, and data center migration planning using AWS best practices and the AWS Well-Architected Framework.
  • Facilitate client design sessions and translate business and technical requirements into documented architectures, diagrams, migration plans, estimates, and implementation standards.
  • Collaborate with senior management team to provide input to strategy, products, reusable accelerators, and team objectives.
  • Help educate enterprise clients on the value proposition of cloud and participate in deep architectural discussions to ensure solutions are designed for successful deployment in the cloud.
Requirements
  • 8 years of experience in infrastructure, cloud, network engineering, or enterprise technology roles.
  • 2 years team lead, supervisor, or management experience.
  • 4 years of hands-on experience designing and implementing AWS infrastructure solutions.
  • Experience designing and documenting enterprise AWS architectures, including landing zones, multi-account strategies, governance models, network architectures, security baselines, and operational readiness patterns.
  • Strong AWS network architecture experience including VPC design, routing, DNS, segmentation, firewalls, load balancers, VPN, Direct Connect, Transit Gateway, and hybrid connectivity patterns.
  • Experience with cloud security and identity concepts including IAM, identity federation, SCPs, logging, monitoring, encryption, security baselines, least-privilege access, and compliance-aligned controls.
  • Experience implementing repeatable cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code, preferably Terraform, CloudFormation, CDK, or similar automation technologies.
  • Ability to design, document, and communicate clear infrastructure solutions, including current-state assessments, future-state architectures, diagrams, migration plans, implementation standards, and operational runbooks.
  • Experience serving as a senior technical escalation point for complex cloud infrastructure, networking, security, hybrid cloud, or automation issues.
  • Experience with the AWS Well-Architected Framework (WAF) and Cloud Adoption Framework (CAF).
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills interacting with a variety of audiences (CXO, architects, management, infrastructure engineers, security teams, and developers).
  • Master's Degree preferred or Bachelor's Degree with equivalent experience.
P referred Qualifications
  • Completed AWS certifications or willingness to acquire them. AWS Solutions Architect Professional, Advanced Networking Specialty, Security Specialty, or DevOps Engineer Professional preferred.
  • Experience with data center migration, VMware environments, on-premises storage, backup/recovery, and hybrid cloud transformation projects.
  • Experience with Microsoft Entra ID, Active Directory, SAML/OIDC federation, AWS IAM Identity Center, and hybrid identity patterns.
  • Experience building reusable Infrastructure as Code modules, reference architectures, implementation standards, operational runbooks, or cloud delivery playbooks.
  • Experience with DevOps tooling and automation/scripting such as CodePipeline, CodeBuild, Azure DevOps, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Ansible, Python, PowerShell, Bash, or similar technologies.
  • Exposure to FinOps, observability, disaster recovery, policy-as-code, cost optimization, or cloud analytics tools.
  • Experience supporting pre-sales solutioning, proposal estimates, executive technical presentations, consulting delivery leadership, or identification of reusable service offerings.
  • Experience applying AI engineering tools and practices, including Kiro or similar tools, to infrastructure design, documentation, automation, delivery accelerators, or solution architecture workflows.
