Overview

William Charles Construction, a MasTec Company, is hiring for a Senior Project Manager for new work in New Albany, IN! 

The Senior Project Manager is a leadership position and will manage the financial and business aspects of William Charles Construction Infrastructure group. This position provides leadership and responsibility for both technical and administrative positions that will involve short and long term planning. Responsible for establishing and managing the business units' goals and objectives.

The Senior Project Manager will have the lead role to interface with assigned Construction Project Leaders and for all aspects of the projects from initial budgeting, planning and development. Utilization of the Construction Department policies and procedures and Project Controls requirements to plan, organize, monitor, control and report status progress. The Senior Project Manager is directly responsible for the financial P&L within the department's operations.

This role will be based in New Albany, onsite, with the needed ability to travel to projects as needed.

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for the oversight, assignment, training, and development of CE&I – Project Managers
  • Approve PTO for direct reports
  • Ensure Job and Budget Set-ups are completed with assistance of estimating and project manager
  • Review Bids and Contract Documents during the project bidding and negotiations
  • Collaborate with Directors for the assignment of resources to new projects
  • Review financial Reports weekly for all active projects
  • Ensure Weekly Project review meetings are scheduled and held with project teams, and correct information is being presented and reported, including explanation of variances
  • Assist and approve, as needed with Purchasing to get P.O.’s and Subcontracts Executed
  • Assist as needed with Legal for Contract Reviews
  • Ensure Pay Applications (Billing sheets) are processed in a timely manner and review before submittal by Project Managers
  • Review and approve Change Orders before Project Managers Submit to Clients
  • Review and sign off on Monthly Projections, CCR Logs, Risk Matrices, and Stretch Goals with Project Teams
  • Assemble weekly executive project notes and review with Director of Operations
  • Attend monthly customer meetings as necessary
  • Perform quarterly and year end reviews with direct deports
  • Assist with Business Development as requested
  • Assist with Process/Procedure Development as needed
  • Complete a minimum of two (2) on-site Safety Reports a month
  • Audit Project Procore sites once per month, or as needed, to assure information meets requirements and is up to date

Qualifications
  • Construction Management degree or similar. A combination of education and experience will be considered in lieu of a degree
  • 10 Years of experience in construction (or approved comparable experience) required
  • Experience in Agency Infrastructure Projects with an emphasis on structures and concrete paving are a plus

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • Project Management training or certification (PMP or similar)
  • Strong understanding of the Project Management Process
  • Strong Interpersonal skills for managing team and external clients
  • Knowledge of Project/Quality Management Systems and Software (Procore, Project Team, MS Projects, MS Teams)
