Peraton is seeking a Senior Technical Manager, who is a seasoned leader responsible for overseeing and optimizing Cloud & Infrastructure services within an organization. This role blends deep technical knowledge with strategic management skills to ensure the stability, scalability, and efficiency of complex technical environments. The Senior Technical Manager drives technical excellence, leads cross-functional teams, and collaborates with stakeholders to align technical with broader business objectives.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for overseeing and optimizing cloud & infrastructure services within an organization. This role blends deep technical knowledge with strategic management skills to ensure the stability, scalability, and efficiency of complex technical environments
  • Ability to operate with autonomy, managing teams and projects while ensuring seamless technical support, infrastructure reliability, and continuous improvement. They focus on process optimization, resource management, incident response, and vendor coordination to maintain high availability and efficiency.
  • Develop and execute strategies to enhance services, focusing on infrastructure stability, performance, and scalability. Align cloud services technical goals with business priorities and emerging technologies.
  • Lead, mentor, and manage technical teams, ensuring clear roles, accountability, and professional development. Oversee resource allocation, recruitment, and performance management.
  • Establish and refine procedures, including incident management, change control, and service monitoring. Drive automation and DevOps practices to improve efficiency and reduce downtime.
  • Manage relationships with vendors and internal stakeholders to coordinate support, resolve technical issues, and implement system upgrades. Ensure compliance with SLAs and contractual obligations.
  • Lead Incident and Risk Management: to insure root cause analysis, risk assessments, and mitigation plans for technical incidents. Foster a culture of continuous improvement to minimize risks.
  • Provide Cross-Functional Leadership to Collaborate with engineering, product, sales, finance, and support teams to ensure integrated cloud services and aligned objectives. Advocate for cloud services needs and improvements.
  • Support Change Management to Guide teams through technology changes, deployments, and upgrades with effective communication and stakeholder engagement. Ensure minimal service disruption during deployments.
  • Support Performance Reporting by developing and present services metrics, dashboards, and reports to senior leadership. Use data-driven insights to inform decisions and prioritize initiatives.
  • Ensure continuous improvement by promote a culture of innovation, feedback, and best practices in cloud services. Lead efforts for training, knowledge sharing, and process standardization.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • 12 years of program management experience with related experience as Manager for information technology contracts.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or equivalent experience. Advanced degree preferred.
  • Strong leadership experience (5+ years) in cloud services infrastructure or related roles with a proven ability to manage teams and cross vendor collaboration in AWS and / or Azure environments
  • In-depth knowledge of modern IT infrastructure, cloud platforms, DevOps methodologies, and automation tools.
  • Experience working with and leading organizations covering Infrastructure operations and engineering, including End point engineering & image build and patching, Network, Security, Storage and backup services, email, Communication and user collaboration tools, Video teleconference, File and print servers, Remote access, Server hosting, Monitoring
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills to address challenges and optimize processes.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration across diverse technical and business teams.
  • Experience with vendor management, service level agreements, and contract negotiations.
  • Ability to lead incident response, risk management, and change management initiatives.

 Preferred Qualifications:

  • Relevant cloud certifications (AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Azure Administrator Associate, or equivalent)
  • Knowledge of security and compliance frameworks (NIST, FedRAMP, Zero Trust Architecture)
  • Cloud Security such as CCSP (Certified Cloud Security Professional), Cloud+ (CompTIA Cloud Plus), GCLD (GIAC Cloud Security Essentials), GCSA (GIAC Cloud Security Automation)
  • Department of Transportation (DOT) experience is desired.

Target Salary Range$146,000 - $234,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual's experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations.
