JOB SUMMARY:

The Infrastructure Engineer is a technical specialistroleresponsible for maintaining, supporting, and improving the global infrastructure platform across on-premises and cloud environments. This role provides deep technical expertise across servers, storage, networkingLAN, WAN and Wifi, virtualisation, backup+ DR, and monitoring systems.

The role ensures the stability, resilience, performance, and securityacrossinfrastructure services that underpinsbusiness operations. Engineers deliver hands-on technical work, support incidents, participate in project delivery, implement change, and contribute to global standardisation and modernisation initiatives.

Operating under the guidance of the Regional Infrastructure Manager, this position is crucial in ensuring infrastructure availability across regional offices, datacentres, remote sites, and cloud workload.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Duties and responsibilities would include:

Core Infrastructure Engineering

  • Troubleshoot infrastructurerelatedissuesby providing 3rdline support tosupporting functions.

  • Maintainbothon-premand cloudServer environments (Windows2016/2019/2022), including installation, configuration,Patch managementand lifecycle management.

  • Manage Active Directory, Entra ID, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, OU structure, replication.

  • Support hybrid identity (AAD Connect, Cloud Sync), MFA, Conditional Access, and identity governance baselines.

  • Deploy, maintain, and troubleshoot virtualisation platforms (VMware vSphere/ESXi or Hyper-V).

  • Perform server builds, OS hardening, patching, software deployment, and configuration baseline enforcement.

  • Support Back up and DR functions.

Azure & Cloud Infrastructure

  • Support Azure VMs, storage accounts, VNets, NSGs, load balancers, recovery vaults.

  • Maintain Azure backup & site recovery (ASR) configurations and replication health.

  • Assist with AVD, image management, FSLogix profiles, and session host maintenance.

  • Monitor cloud resource performance, cost, and security posture.

Storage, Backup & DR

  • Administer SAN/NAS platforms (NetApp, Dell EMC, HPE, Synology, or equivalent).

  • Manage storage provisioning, LUNs, shares, quotas, snapshots, and performance tuning.

  • Operate backup systems (Veeam, Rubrik, Commvault, Azure Backup):

  • Contribute to disaster recovery testing, documentation, and RPO/RTO validation.

Networking & Connectivity (Infrastructure-Focused)

  • Support network operations where required by region:

  • VLAN management.

  • Switch configuration (Cisco, HP, Meraki, UniFi).

  • Firewall rule updates and packet tracing (Fortinet/Palo Alto/Cisco ASA).

  • SD-WAN/VPN monitoring and troubleshooting.

  • Perform connectivity diagnostics for servers, cloud, and datacentre infrastructure.

  • Wifi Management, Monitoring and Deployment.

Monitoring

  • Use monitoring platforms (SolarWinds, PRTG, LogicMonitor, Azure Monitor) to detect performance issues and faults.

  • Support scripting/automation (PowerShell preferred) for routine tasks such as:

  • User and AD object management.

  • Server compliance checks.

  • Bulk configuration changes.

  • Backup validation scripts.

IncidentandChange Management

  • Provide 3rd-line technical supportfor thecompany.

  • Perform root-cause analysis for recurring issues and contribute to problem remediation plans.

  • Execute changes using approved procedures, including risk assessment, rollback planning, and stakeholder communication.

Project Work & Technical Delivery

  • Participate in infrastructure upgrades, migrations, server refreshes, cloud onboarding, and network modernisation projects.

  • Assist with datacentre rack/stack, cabling, hypervisor upgrades, storage refresh, and backup platform improvements.

  • Support global standardisation of builds, tools, and infrastructure frameworks.

Documentation & Configuration Management

  • Create and maintain:

  • Build documents

  • Infrastructure diagrams

  • Asset and configuration records

  • Ensure documentation reflects current operating environments and engineering standards.

  • Create KB for service line functions.

SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE:

Essential

  • Professional experience inIT support, minimum 3+ years underService Desk,systems administration, networking, or cloud operations.

  • Strong experience supporting core infrastructure technologies (servers, storage, networking, VMs).

  • Solid hands-on experience with Windows Server, Active Directory/Entra ID, Group Policy, and enterprise management platforms.

  • Practical knowledge of virtualisation (VMware/Hyper-V) and cloud systems (Azure preferred).

  • Experience with patching, monitoring, and configuration-management tools.

  • Understanding of backup, replication, and disaster-recovery concepts.

  • Ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues across multiple domains.

  • Strong documentation, communication, and stakeholder-engagement skills.

Desirable

  • Experience working in a global or multi-site environment.

  • Familiarity with AVD, O365, M365, and endpoint-management technologies.

  • Exposure to enterprise networking (routing, switching, firewalling, VPN).

  • Knowledge of cybersecurity practices, vulnerability management, and compliance frameworks.

  • Experience with ITIL processes (incident, change, problem).

EDUCATION: QUALIFICATIONS/PROFESSIONAL MEMBERSHIPS:

  • IT Degreein Computer science or similar.

  • Microsoft(Azure Administrator, Windows Server, Identity & Access)

  • VMware(VCP)

  • Cisco(CCNA)

  • CompTIA(Network+, Security+, Server+)

  • ITILFoundation
