Infrastructure Architecture - Senior Professional I
About your role:

As an Infrastructure Architecture - Sr Professional I, you will play a vital role in developing and implementing infrastructure strategies that align with Fiserv's business objectives. Your expertise will contribute to the robustness, scalability, and security of our infrastructure systems. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and deploy architecture solutions that meet the evolving needs of the financial services industry.
Responsibilities and Duties Lead and support MySQL database design and optimization to enable platform growth and scalability. Drive schema design and improvements, balancing tactical needs with long-term architectural strategy to support. Enterprise data warehouse Operational data consumers Collaborate closely with application and feature development teams to optimize database schemas and SQL queries prior to production releases. Own and support ETL pipelines and Data Lake management to ensure reliable and efficient data ingestion and processing. Contribute to and support database migration initiatives, including migrations from MySQL to PostgreSQL (strongly preferred). Support and enhance ETL ingestion scripts, with Python experience considered a strong asset. Proactively identify opportunities to improve platform stability, performance, and data resiliency. Analyze system incidents, perform root cause analysis, and manage recovery efforts to ensure rapid restoration of services without data loss. Provide technical leadership and people management, including mentoring and managing a small team of data engineers. Maintain a high level of attention to detail, ensuring data quality and operational excellence in daily activities.Qualifications and Skills Diploma / Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or similar 3+ years of relevant work experience in data engineering or database-focused roles. Demonstrated experience in one or more of the following areas:o Database administrationo Data engineeringo ETL data loading and ingestiono Data classification and normalizationo SQL performance tuning and schema optimization Experience with database security hardening and implementing best practices, including collaboration with cross-functional teams to promote zero-trust and secure data access. Familiarity with AWS services, including Glue, Lambda, Redshift, DMS and EKS (Kubernetes). Familiarity with Snowflake and Data Streaming services (MSK, Kafka, Confluent). Experience with Linux system administration, web servers, and networking is an asset. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proactive mindset for improving systems and processes. A deep curiosity and passion for learning, staying current with technical trends, and recommending appropriate tools and approaches. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain technical concepts and collaborate effectively across business and technical teams.

Salary Range:

$92,000.00-$115,000.00
