The Team

Our Infrastructure and Capital Projects practice is comprised of over 600 sector experts and specialized consultants across the Globe. We combine strategic and operational expertise with a deep technical knowledge to support developers, sponsors, lenders, and projects leader to select, structure, improve and execute Capital Projects in a more efficient and sustainable way.

The Buyer is responsible for the procurement of materials, equipment, and services necessary for project execution. This includes supplier selection, negotiation, purchase order management, and ensuring that all procurement activities align with project schedules, budget constraints, and quality requirements. The role requires close coordination with internal teams and external vendors to achieve cost-effective and timely procurement solutions.

How you will contribute

  • Develop and manage procurement strategies that align with project needs and cost efficiency goals.

  • Identify, evaluate, and negotiate contracts with suppliers to ensure competitive pricing and quality standards.

  • Issue and manage purchase orders, ensuring timely delivery and compliance with specifications.

  • Maintain strong relationships with vendors and resolve any procurement-related issues.

  • Monitor supplier performance, ensuring adherence to contractual obligations and delivery schedules.

  • Collaborate with engineering, logistics, and project management teams to coordinate material deliveries.

  • Ensure compliance with corporate procurement policies and regulatory requirements.

  • Track market trends, assess risks, and implement mitigation strategies for supply chain disruptions.

  • Maintain procurement records, reports, and databases for transparency and audit compliance.

  • Support cost control initiatives by analyzing procurement expenses and identifying cost-saving opportunities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field.

  • Minimum 4 years of experience in procurement within industrial, construction, or infrastructure projects.

  • SCMP designation is considered and asset.

  • Strong negotiation and contract management skills.

  • Proficiency in procurement software and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.

  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple procurement activities simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.

The salary range is $95,000 - $140,000 CAD annually, dependent on several variables including but not limited to education, experience, skills, and geography.
