We are currently hiring a Solution Specialist I based in our Head Office.

As a Solution Specialist I, you'll provide consulting, technical planning, and system administration to support BCAA's business and infrastructure systems. In this role, you'll deliver second-level and occasional third-level administration, help design and maintain system architecture, and ensure operational excellence. You'll also play a key role in troubleshooting, coaching junior staff, and contributing to project success.

What you'll do:

  • Support and maintain AWS cloud infrastructure services, including compute, storage, and networking resources.

  • Administer Windows Server environments, including Active Directory, Group Policy Objects (GPO), and Public Key Infrastructure (PKI).

  • Provide support for hybrid Office 365 services, including Exchange Online, Teams, and identity integration.

  • Automate routine administrative tasks using PowerShell scripting.

  • Monitor and manage incident, request, and change activities in alignment with ITIL processes.

  • Contribute to meeting defined SLAs for system availability, performance, and support response times.

  • Assist senior team members in implementing and documenting new enterprise IT solutions.

  • Participate in patching, upgrades, and system lifecycle management across on-premises and cloud platforms.

  • Maintain documentation of system configurations, processes, and operational standards.

What you bring:

  • Associate's, Bachelor's, or Post-Graduate Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or Computer Engineering.

  • 6-7 years of system administration and/or system infrastructure experience.

  • Hands-on experience with AWS cloud services (EC2, S3, IAM, VPC).

  • Expert background in administering Microsoft environments, including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and GPO.

  • Familiarity with Office 365 hybrid environments and identity management.

  • Proficiency with PowerShell scripting for automation and administration.

  • Knowledge of ITIL principles and experience working within SLA-driven environments.

  • Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and communication skills.

  • Exposure to Terraform or other Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools.

  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines or DevOps practices.

  • Understanding of containerization platforms (Docker, Kubernetes).

  • AWS or Microsoft certifications (e.g., AWS Solutions Architect Associate, Microsoft 365/Windows Server certifications).

  • Familiarity with SCCM or MECM management

The salary range for this position is $91,185.84 to $113,982.36 and is determined viajob-related knowledge, skills, experience, certifications, market demand and internal equity. In addition to base salary and BCAA benefits, this position is eligible for a performance bonus target of 9%, with the opportunity to earn up to 15%.

Please note that this is a hybrid role based out of our Burnaby, BC office (3 on-site / 2 remote days). Applicants who are not located within commuting distance of our Head Office or are not looking to relocate to the Greater Vancouver/Lower Mainland/Fraser Valley region will not be considered.
