As a recognized leader in the specification, design, development, validation and production launch of advanced vehicle and powertrain systems, IAV Automotive Engineering deploys a leading team of technical experts, engineering tools and program processes from its North American Headquarters in Novi, Michigan.
IAV is currently seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Infotainment Systems Testers to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for testing and validating infotainment systems to ensure they meet the highest standards of quality and performance. Candidate must be a resident or willing to relocate in Chattanooga, TN.
Essential Responsibilities & Activities:
  • Conduct comprehensive testing of infotainment systems and their software functions like navigation, radio, smartphone integration
  • Conduct regular test drives with other testers evaluating the systems on the street from an end-user perspective, mostly domestic
  • Identify, document, and track defects and issues, collaborating with development teams to ensure timely resolution.
  • Perform regression testing to verify that resolved issues do not impact existing functionality.
  • Analyze test results and provide detailed reports on system performance, reliability, and usability.
  • Commissioning of technology carriers, prototypes, databases, tool and process chains
  • Flashing and performing software and configuration updates.
  • Conscientious documentation of test environment and results
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of infotainment systems with other vehicle components.
  • May require domestic travel and international, if necessary
  • Other duties as required to ensure business success.

Requirements
  • Associates / Bachelor's degree in the field of Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Proven experience (minimum of 1 year) in testing automotive infotainment systems or similar embedded systems.
  • Strong understanding of software testing methodologies and tools.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to conduct test drives.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with automotive communication protocols (e.g., CAN, LIN, MOST)
  • Proficiency in using test management and defect tracking tools.
  • Familiarity with infotainment system architectures and components.
