Job description

Position Summary: ALIGN Precision is seeking a motivated and dependable Engineer / IT Intern to support our enterprise-wide Windows 10 End-of-Life (EOL) hardware replacement initiative. This is a long-term temporary position expected to run at least through year-end, with potential for extension based on project needs. This role will work closely with the Infrastructure and IT teams to assist with laptop deployments, workstation replacements, imaging, inventory tracking, user support, and onsite rollout activities across multiple business units nationwide. The ideal candidate is hands-on, organized, technically curious, and comfortable traveling as needed to support deployment activities at various manufacturing locations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

•         Assist with enterprise laptop and hardware deployment activities

•         Configure, image, and prepare Windows 11 devices for end users

•         Support workstation replacements and user migrations

•         Help track hardware inventory, asset assignments, and deployment status

•         Provide basic end-user technical support during rollout activities

•         Assist with docking station, monitor, and peripheral setup

•         Support troubleshooting of deployment-related issues

•         Coordinate with internal IT staff and third-party partners during rollout events

•         Maintain accurate documentation and deployment records

•         Travel to various business units as required to support deployment schedules

•         Other duties assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Experience and Education:

o    Pursuing or recently completed degree/certification in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field preferred

  • Technical Skills:

o    Strong interest in IT infrastructure, hardware deployment, and end-user support

o    Hardware setup skills including installation of SSDs, SATA drives, and RAM

o    Experience installing and configuring Windows 10/11 operating systems

o    Ability to install drivers and configure peripherals

o    Basic understanding of deployment/imaging tools is a plus

o    Basic Windows networking knowledge including TCP/IP, SMB, and Active Directory

o    Strong organizational and communication skills

o    Ability to work independently and in team environments

o    Willingness and ability to travel as needed

o    CompTIA A+ and/or IT Fundamentals certifications are recommended but not required

·         Preferred Skills

o    Experience imaging or configuring laptops/workstations

o    Familiarity with Microsoft 365 environment

o    Experience working within a Microsoft GCC High (GCCH) environment is a plus

o    Basic networking and troubleshooting knowledge

o    Experience working in a professional or manufacturing environment is a plus

·         Position Details

o    Long-term temporary position (expected through at least year-end)

o    Full-time hours expected

o    Travel required based on rollout schedule

o    Opportunity for hands-on enterprise IT experience supporting a large multi-site environment
