Job description

IT Data Analyst
The Office of the Missouri Attorney General is seeking an IT Data Analyst. The Data Analyst supports the Missouri Attorney General's Office by collecting, organizing, analyzing, and interpreting data to enhance decision-making, improve operational efficiency, and strengthen case management. This role provides analytical support across all Missouri Attorney General Office divisions to ensure data accuracy, transparency, and actionable insights that advance the Office's mission to serve Missouri citizens.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop, maintain, and optimize datasets, databases, and reporting systems that support investigative, legal, and administrative functions.
  • Analyze trends across case activity, complaint patterns, litigation outcomes, and statewide enforcement initiatives.
  • Create dashboards, statistical reports, and visualizations to communicate findings to attorneys, investigators, leadership, and external partners.
  • Collaborate with office staff to identify data needs, define requirements, and ensure accuracy in data collection processes.
  • Support cross-division projects by providing quantitative and qualitative analysis as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with state and federal data privacy regulations, including proper handling of sensitive, confidential, and legal information.
  • Conduct quality assurance checks on incoming data, identify anomalies, and recommend process improvements.
  • Assist in modernizing data workflows through automation, standardized reporting, and improved data governance practices.
  • Respond to internal data requests and provide technical guidance on data interpretation and usage.
  • Prepare documentation for datasets, data models, and reporting processes.

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in data science, statistics, information systems, computer science, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in data analysis, reporting, and database management.
  • Proficiency in SQL, database management, Artificial Intelligence, Excel, Power BI, Tableau, or similar platforms.
  • Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills with the ability to interpret complex datasets.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to translate data into clear narratives for non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to work with confidential information and maintain strict adherence to data security protocols.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working in a government, legal, or law-enforcement environment.
  • Familiarity with case-management systems, CRM platforms, or investigative data tools.
  • Knowledge of statistical methods, predictive modeling, or fraud analytics.

Salary range is $55,000 to $65,000, commensurate with education and experience. This position is open until filled.
