Job description

IT Network Administrator II

Triumvirate Environmental, one of North America's leading environmental services firms, is seeking an IT Network Administrator II to join our Information Technology team in Somerville, Massachusetts.

This position reports to the Associate Director of IT Operations and is based in our Somerville, Massachusetts corporate office. The role will be fully onsite in Somerville for the first 90 days. Following the onboarding period, employees will transition to a hybrid schedule consisting of 3 days onsite in Somerville, MA and 2 days remote, subject to manager and Human Resources approval.

Responsibilities: 

  • Own and evolve the enterprise network environment, including firewalls, VPNs, switches, routers, and wireless infrastructure (Aruba, Fortinet, Ubiquiti, and more), while serving as the senior-level networking authority across the organization.
  • Lead network design, upgrades, and optimization projects, including merger and acquisition integrations, with a focus on highly available and scalable solutions.
  • Monitor network health, performance, and compliance using analytics and reporting tools, and ensure alignment with industry security standards.
  • Serve as subject matter expert for VMware and enterprise storage (SAN) environments.
  • Serve as the senior authority on Microsoft 365 and its related platforms.
  • Design, deploy, and maintain cloud infrastructure solutions.
  • Contribute to the change management process, ensuring all changes are clearly communicated and well documented.
  • Serve as a senior technical escalation resource for the help desk team and mentor junior IT team members.
  • Collaborate with security and IT operations teams to strengthen infrastructure reliability and security posture.
  • Stay current with industry certifications and continuing education; Triumvirate will reimburse for approved certifications earned.

Required Qualifications: 

  • 5+ years of IT experience, with 3 or more years in enterprise network administration in multi-site environments.
  • Excellent problem-solving, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
  • Deep expertise in LAN/WAN/wireless networking and network security technologies; Fortinet, Aruba, and Ubiquiti experience preferred.
  • Experience with VMware and on-premises infrastructure environments.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to continuous learning.
  • Industry certifications preferred (Fortinet, Microsoft, Cisco, VMware, etc.).
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship.
  • Must have reliable transportation.
