Position Summary
The Information Systems support staff at SSI has a diverse mixture of educational and work experience backgrounds that allow us to support the IS needs of our company, respond to a wide range of customer questions related to the operation of our Agvance software and help our customers move to the cloud and continue to support SSI products. Our IS department offers a challenging opportunity for people with strong problem solving and communication skills.
Job Responsibilities
  • Customer Service โ€“ Quality customer service is an important part of our business. Our technical support staff provides assistance installing our software, solving issues related to connected to devices (printers, scales at the elevator, automated blenders, etc.), and troubleshooting performance concerns mostly through telephone and remote control of those customerโ€™s computer systems.
  • Agvance Hosted โ€“ SSI hosts its Agvance software for its customers on AWS. The IS Support staff manages on-premises to hosted migrations and maintain the various Agvance Hosted environments.
  • Research โ€“ Technology is changing and advancing at a rapid pace. Customer IS needs vary widely and we continuously research new technologies to meet these needs. Customer issues vary in difficulty and often require research to test the functionality of Agvance in a particular situation.
Experience / Skills Required
  • Comfort/aptitude with Microsoftยฎ Windows systems, networks and configurations
  • Strong problem solving skills and a willingness to learn new technologies
  • Strong customer service/communication skills
  • Articulate speech (excellent grammar, clear enunciation)
  • A basic understanding of AWS and the services they provide is recommended
