Repair Test Technician


Location: Socorro / Far East El Paso, TX
Job Type: Full-Time | Long-Term
Pay: $21.50/hr Day Shift | $25.00/hr Night Shift
Schedule: 12-hour compressed shifts

Job Description


Balance Staffing is hiring Repair Test Technicians for a leading technology manufacturing company in the Far East El Paso area. This is a great opportunity for candidates with a background in computer hardware, electronics, IT, server repair, or technical troubleshooting who are looking to grow their technical skills in a hands-on manufacturing environment.


Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot, test, repair, and install server hardware and components.
  • Diagnose issues involving CPUs, DIMMs/RAM, power supplies, storage devices, NICs, fans, and backplanes.
  • Perform hardware and system testing using Linux-based tools.
  • Troubleshoot basic LAN and network connectivity issues.
  • Replace FRUs/CRUs and perform component-level repairs as needed.
  • Update BIOS, BMC, RAID, and NIC firmware.
  • Use basic Python scripts for automated testing or log analysis.
  • Analyze system logs and identify potential hardware or testing failures.
  • Document repairs, parts usage, test results, and root-cause information.
  • Follow established safety, testing, and repair procedures.


Qualifications

  • 1+ year of experience in electronics, IT hardware, computer repair, server repair, or a related technical field.
  • Basic understanding of computer/server hardware and troubleshooting.
  • Basic Linux knowledge and familiarity with command-line tools.
  • Basic networking/LAN troubleshooting knowledge.
  • Basic Python or scripting experience is preferred.
  • Ability to read technical documentation and follow testing procedures.
  • Strong attention to detail and documentation skills.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to work 12-hour shifts and overtime as needed.

Schedule


Day Shift – $21.50/hr

  • A Shift: Sunday–Tuesday, 6:00 AM–6:00 PM; Wednesday, 6:00 AM–12:00 PM
  • C Shift: Wednesday, 12:00 PM–6:00 PM; Thursday–Saturday, 6:00 AM–6:00 PM


Night Shift – $25.00/hr

  • B Shift: Sunday–Tuesday, 6:00 PM–6:00 AM; Wednesday, 6:00 PM–12:00 AM
  • D Shift: Wednesday, 12:00 AM–6:00 AM; Thursday–Saturday, 6:00 PM–6:00 AM
