As an IT Support & Document Processing Specialist, you will be trusted to utilize your root cause analysis and problem-solving skills to support two critical operational functions for the Department of Veterans Affairs: front-line IT support and structured document processing. The specialist will resolve user technical issues, ensure document accuracy and compliance, and uphold strict security standards. This role requires strong attention to detail, independent work capability, and the flexibility to handle both technical and administrative workflows.


MEANINGFUL WORK AND PERSONAL IMPACT


As an IT Support & Document Processing Specialist , the work youll do at GDIT will be impactful to the mission of the Department of Veterans Affairs. A typical day will include:

  • Responding to incoming service calls and ticket queues, providing first-tier IT support
  • Troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues and document resolutions
  • Reviewing, preparing, classifying, redacting, and processing documents according to established procedures
  • Utilizing Microsoft Excel to update, track, validate, and manage document-related data
  • Conducting quality checks to ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance.
  • Maintaining confidentiality and complying with all security and data-protection requirements
  • Working independently while maintaining organized and efficient workflows

As a well-qualified candidate for this role YOU are:

  • An effective communicator able to effectively communicate both written and verbally

  • Reliable and able to meet deadlines consistently
  • Able to quickly learn new systems and software tools
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision


To qualify for this role, YOU MUST have:

  • A High school diploma or G.E.D.
  • One (1) or more years of customer service or other telephone experience
  • A VA EOD/Public Trust
  • An ability and willingness to work AND full-time shift
  • Louisiana residency living within a reasonable commuting distance (~60-mile radius) of our Bossier City facility
  • An ability and willingness to work and train onsite as required
  • An ability to obtain a U.S. public trust
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel

Even BETTER if YOU have:

  • An associate's degree or equivalent in a related field of study
  • Previous experience troubleshooting software and hardware issues (Windows and MAC O/S, internet systems, and networking)
  • Previous experience working with a contact center management database
  • Previous experience working with a ticketing system
  • Prior administrative, document-processing, or data-related experience
  • Experience working in secure or compliance-driven environments
  • Technical certifications (i.e. CompTIA Network+, CompTIA ITF+, CompTIA, Security+, Microsoft 365 Fundamentals (MS900), Microsoft Excel Specialist (MOS), HDI Support Center Analyst (HDISCA))

Salary and Benefit Information

The likely hourly rate for this position is between $22.97 - $31.07. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
