Job Title: Senior Network Engineer

Job Summary:
The Client is seeking a highly skilled Senior Network Engineer to join its Network Operations Team, responsible for ensuring the performance, security, and stability of enterprise-wide network infrastructure. This role requires deep expertise in Layer 2/3 networking, network architecture, and cloud-based systems, along with a strong background in compliance and network security.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and troubleshoot Layer 2 and 3 network protocols, ensuring high-performance data throughput
  • Monitor, support, and optimize connectivity across all network segments (LAN, backbone, partner networks, third-party links)
  • Evaluate and enhance network architecture with a focus on failover, resilience, and performance tuning
  • Enforce network security policies, implement access controls, segmentation, and disaster recovery solutions
  • Use SolarWinds to build proactive dashboards for monitoring and reporting on infrastructure performance
  • Apply regular patches and updates to routers, switches, firewalls, and related hardware
  • Collaborate with Network and Security Operations teams in designing secure and scalable cloud architectures (AWS, Azure, Hybrid)
  • Maintain detailed inventory and documentation, including up-to-date network diagrams and change control logs
  • Assist with cybersecurity investigations, triage, forensic analysis, and compliance reporting
  • Ensure adherence to NIST guidelines, client policies, and industry best practices

Required Qualifications:
Education:
  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field or equivalent work experience

Experience (5-7 years minimum):
  • Managing Layer 2/3 network protocols, including complex issue resolution
  • Deployment and administration of routers, switches, and wireless components
  • Supporting hybrid cloud environments (AWS, Azure)
  • Working knowledge of Unix (RedHat), Windows, VMware, and infrastructure platforms

Certifications:
  • CCNA - Cisco Certified Network Associate (REQUIRED)
  • CCDA - Cisco Certified Design Associate (REQUIRED)
  • CCIE - Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (PREFERRED)
