Job description

The Information Security Manager manages, controls, and coordinates the information security group. This position performs oversight of information security operations.

  • Oversees Security Information and Event Management Platform.

  • Oversees Endpoint Protection and User Monitoring Tools.

  • Monitors day-to-day analysis for Information Security infractions and violations.

  • Provides strategic direction and planning for information security.

  • Monitors and stays up to date on current threat intelligence to anticipate breaches.

  • Manages, installs, and updates information security products.

  • Develops security standards and best practices.

  • Plans and implements security measures to protect systems, networks, and data.

  • Leads threat hunting exercises and activities.

  • Performs control validation through breach simulation tools.

  • Analyzes and blocks threats using a variety of tools and methods.

  • Monitors and analyzes infrastructure systems (Active Directory, Azure, M365, Windows Servers, Applications, Data Security, and iSeries).

  • Prepares current and useful documentation of systems and system changes.

  • Security metric tracking and reporting.

  • Works closely with other Information Security Analyst, the IT department, multiple outside departments, Alpine employees and software vendors.

  • Works closely with vendors’ support personnel to resolve issues in a timely and professional manner.

  • Works closely with all departments of the bank including Information Technology.

  • Regular and reliable on-site attendance is required as an essential function of this position.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.


Supervisory Duties



  • First line supervisor for Information Security team.

  • Responsible for hires, disciplinary actions, and training staff members.

  • Recommends promotions, terminations, and salary adjustments to upper management.

  • Coaches staff, prepares, and delivers performance evaluations, for direct reports.


Employees are held accountable for all duties of this job.


Job Qualifications


Knowledge, Skills, and Ability:

  • Excellent customer service skills and ability to resolve issues promptly and effectively.


Education or Formal Training:



  • BA/BS in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent training and experience.

  • Cybersecurity Analyst+ (CYSA+) is required.

  • Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) preferred when hired or completed within 12 months of hire date.

  • CISSP, OSCP, or SANs certificate preferred.

  • Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid State of Colorado Drivers’ License, required.


Experience:



  • Azure and Microsoft Security Experience required.

  • 6+ years of experience in the information technology or information security field, with 2+ years being in a supervisory role.

  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted on a year-to-year basis.


Working Conditions


This job operates in a professional office environment, that may have a hybrid schedule to include remote work and in office, but can be modified at any time, at management discretion. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and multifunction printers. Travel to conferences, meetings and branch locations on a regular basis may be necessary. Additional requirements include occasional application updates on weekends or evenings.

This is largely a sedentary role. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear.
