Job description

Job Title: Quality Technician/Admin (1st Shift) ($21.00-22.00/HR)

Job Description

The Quality Technician supports plant operations by performing material inspections, managing quality documentation, and maintaining gage calibration records. This role involves a blend of hands-on inspection, administrative data entry, and coordination of gage calibration activities to ensure that all quality standards and documentation requirements are consistently met. We are looking for an individual to start as soon as possible after interviewing. We offer weekly pay with overtime paying time and a half. Apply Today!

Shift: 7am-3:30pm (Monday through Friday)

Responsibilities

  • Inspect materials within the plant to verify they meet established quality standards and specifications.
  • Perform visual inspections and use gages and other measuring tools to confirm product quality and compliance.
  • Scan material test reports (MTRs) and certification documents, convert them to PDF format, and save them in the appropriate digital folders.
  • Complete Word and Excel-based forms to record certification numbers, MTR numbers, part numbers, and other quality-related data accurately.
  • Support the gage calibration process by tracking gages, maintaining records, and ensuring calibration schedules are followed.
  • Enter purchase requisitions into the Infor system after receiving training, ensuring accuracy and completeness of information.
  • Package gages for shipment to calibration suppliers, ensuring proper labeling and documentation.
  • Receive gages returned from calibration suppliers and verify that all items and documentation are complete.
  • Check gages into Gagepack software, update records, apply appropriate labels, and store gages in their designated locations.
  • Maintain organized and accurate quality records, both physical and digital, to support audits and quality assurance activities.
  • Collaborate with team members and other departments to resolve quality issues and improve inspection processes.
  • Follow all plant procedures and safety guidelines while performing inspection and calibration-related tasks.

Essential Skills

  • Proven quality inspection experience in a manufacturing or similar environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform visual inspections and use gages and other quality tools.
  • Comfort working on a computer for daily tasks, including document handling and data entry.
  • Strong data entry skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Experience with quality control and quality assurance processes.
  • Familiarity with quality inspection practices and procedures.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints or technical drawings.
  • Basic understanding of quality control (QC) concepts and terminology.
  • Administrative experience related to documentation, recordkeeping, or quality support.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience working with gages and gage calibration processes.
  • Familiarity with Gagepack or similar gage management software.
  • Experience entering purchase requisitions or working in ERP systems such as Infor.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel for completing forms and maintaining records.
  • Ability to organize and maintain digital and physical quality documentation.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a production environment.

Work Environment

The facility operates with two distinct sides dedicated to different product lines: Instrumentation and Filtration. The workplace is well organized, supporting efficient workflows and clear organization of tools, gages, and documentation. The environment is not temperature controlled, but conditions remain generally comfortable and are not excessively hot or cold. Team members use computers, scanners, gages, and specialized software such as Infor and Gagepack as part of their daily work, combining hands-on inspection tasks with administrative and digital responsibilities.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $22.00/hr.
