Senior Director, Brand & Market Influence

As our Senior Director of Brand & Market Influence, you will shape how the world perceives Fastly. Managing a talented team across PR, brand strategy, and creative design, you will be the steward of our global reputation and market presence. This role is about defining the conversation around edge cloud technology, security, and web performance, ensuring that Fastly is recognized by developers, enterprise executives, and industry analysts as the definitive platform of choice.

What Youโ€™ll Do
  • Guide and Mentor the Team: Directly lead our PR and communications, brand strategy, and creative studio teams as well as working collaboratively with the team to manage strategic agency partnerships.
  • Direct Global PR & Communications: Oversee our global PR framework, media relations, and communications strategies to maximize proactive storytelling and protect corporate reputation. Experience navigating and capitalizing on a fast-moving, AI-driven media landscape.
  • Architect Thought Leadership Platforms: Transform Fastlyโ€™s technical innovations and unique data insights into powerful thought leadership initiatives that influence industry analysts, tech leaders, and mainstream business media.
  • Steward the Creative Studio: Guide the creative team to deliver exceptional design execution across web experiences, global events, corporate assets while responsibly integrating generative AI tools to safely scale creative production frameworks.
  • Brief and Inspire Creative Concepts: Ideate innovative brand experiences and author clear, inspiring creative briefs that challenge our internal teams and external agency partners to deliver breakthrough work.
  • Partner Cross-Functionally: Collaborate seamlessly with Product Marketing, Field Marketing, Campaigns, Digital, and Executive leadership to ensure corporate brand initiatives that anchor, amplify, and align with pipeline generation activities.
What Weโ€™re Looking For
  • Experience & Scale: 12โ€“15+ years of progressive marketing leadership within technology industries.
  • Creative & Communications Expertise: A proven track record of directly leading multi-disciplinary teams across PR, communications, and corporate creative/design studios.
  • Technical Storytelling: Exceptional ability to distill deep, complex concepts (including AI) into highly compelling, human narratives that capture market attention.
  • Agency & Media Stewardship: Deep experience managing top-tier global PR networks and creative agencies, with sharp instincts for media relations and corporate reputation management.
  • Cross-Functional Influence: A master collaborator with a bias for teamwork, capable of building consensus and driving winโ€‘win solutions with senior leaders.
  • Education: Bachelorโ€™s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business Administration, or a related field.
Work Hours
  • This position will require you to be available during core business hours.

Fastly currently embraces a largely hybrid model for most roles which allows employees flexibility to split their time between the office and home.

There is a strong preference for Hybrid near a local office. However, we may be willing to consider remote candidates within the US.

Salary

The estimated salary range for this position is $209,560 to $288,000.

Starting salary may vary based on permissible, non-discriminatory factors such as experience, skills, qualifications, and location.

This role may be eligible to participate in Fastlyโ€™s equity and discretionary bonus programs.
