Job description

Do you find yourself quoting TikToks more often than you'd comfortably admit? Do you see great brand and creator collaborations and think, 'I wish I had thought of that...'? Our team of creator marketing experts is growing, and we're looking for a Senior Creative Strategist who not only understands the social media landscape, but also lives and breathes on the cutting edge of it!

While this role will support broader cross-platform creator initiatives as needed, its primary focus will be TikTok. We're looking for someone who genuinely loves the platform and understands the nuances that make TikTok different—from evolving creative formats and native storytelling conventions to emerging features, audience behaviors, and platform trends.

We're also looking for a Senior Creative Strategist who is excited by AI and its rapidly evolving role in shaping creativity. This includes a curiosity for and hands-on interest in tools like Claude and an understanding of how AI can supercharge ideation, streamline workflows, and unlock new forms of creative strategy today and in the future.

WHO WE ARE
Open Influence is a global, award-winning creator marketing company, providing premium, end-to-end creator marketing solutions. Since 2013, we have been pioneering the creator economy, executing social-first strategies for over 1,500 top brands—including Uber, Subaru, Coca-Cola, AT&T, and Disney. As a platform-agnostic and talent-agnostic partner, we connect brands with the right creators, on the right channels, to drive measurable impact and business growth. The company's proprietary platform boasts the industry's largest collection of influencer data and leverages machine learning and image recognition to analyze more than 500 million pieces of content. Additionally, OI's suite of workflow management tools makes it easy to track progress and manage communication.Top brands we have proudly worked with include Under Armour, Google, Puma, P&G, Hyundai, Unilever, SoFi, Universal Studios, and Facebook.

We won't bury the lead: success in this role requires a creative "free-range" mindset, paired with immaculate project management skills and attention to the finer details. We combine our passion for culture with an infectious commitment to driving meaningful results for our clients. Sure, every agency will have a 'work hard, play harder' environment. Our approach is: work smarter, play better.

A job description won't do Open Influence's company culture justice, but we'll give you a snapshot in a few bullets.

  • We understand that culture starts at the top. Our management team has an ''open door' policy at all times, and actively creates safe, inclusive spaces to connect, share, and strategize.
  • We recognize and celebrate each other's wins, and pick each other up when we stumble (which, spoiler alert: we all do).
  • We aren't afraid to look in the mirror. We continually learn, grow, and improve what we do and how we do it.
  • Plus, a bunch of other perks like our Office Exchange Program, Summer (+ 'No Meeting') Fridays, phone bill reimbursement, full benefits, and more.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Collaborate with the Creative Team to craft comprehensive, TikTok creator marketing campaign strategies across various client verticals.
  • Serve as a TikTok subject matter expert, translating platform trends, behaviors, and emerging opportunities into actionable creator strategies for clients.
  • Stay deeply immersed in the TikTok ecosystem, including content formats, platform updates, commerce innovations, creator trends, and evolving best practices.
  • Identify and articulate opportunities across TikTok Shop, social commerce, and creator-led conversion strategies as the platform continues to evolve.
  • Monitor the creator landscape to maintain familiarity with influential TikTok creators, communities, subcultures, and conversations shaping culture on the platform.
  • Develop TikTok-first strategic recommendations while identifying opportunities for ideas to extend thoughtfully across other social platforms.
  • Leverage emerging AI tools (e.g., Claude and others) to enhance ideation, streamline workflows, and unlock new forms of creative expression
  • Summarize client briefs, perform research and analysis to formulate strategic concepts and plans tailored to meet client objectives.
  • Provide insightful contributions that offer strategic context and enhance the work of the Creative Team.
  • Continuously enhance and update your knowledge of leading social media platforms and stay abreast of the latest trends in the social and creator spheres.
  • Develop compelling presentations and reports that effectively convey the critical elements of the strategic plan.
  • Create high-quality, on-brand assets for both internal and external use.
  • Articulate and defend the rationale behind the recommended strategy in a clear and persuasive manner.
  • Efficiently handle a high volume of tasks and assignments.

EXPERIENCE

  • 5 to 7+ years of experience in creative strategy, creator marketing, social media, or related creative fields.
  • Expertise in developing and implementing creator-related concepts and strategies across multiple verticals.
  • Direct experience developing TikTok-first strategies, campaigns, or creator programs is strongly preferred.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Proficient in creating compelling creative presentation decks.
  • Strong graphic design skills, including hands-on experience with Photoshop, Illustrator, and Canva.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities. A creative and strategic thinker capable of logically connecting our client's objectives. Skilled at simplifying complex concepts for easy comprehension.
  • Familiarity with the RFP (Request for Proposal) process, the analysis of briefs, understanding brands' problem-solving objectives, and delivering effective responses.
  • Deep passion for and fluency in TikTok, including its trends, humor, creative language, editing conventions, and rapidly evolving feature set.
  • Demonstrated understanding of TikTok Shop, creator commerce, and the growing intersection of entertainment and conversion on the platform.
  • Naturally curious about internet culture, with an instinct for identifying emerging behaviors, creators, sounds, formats, and moments before they reach the mainstream.
  • Bonus points if you're an active TikTok creator yourself or regularly experiment with content creation on the platform—you understand what resonates not just in theory, but in practice.
  • Familiarity with the TikTok creator ecosystem and an ability to quickly identify the creators, communities, and cultural signals most relevant to a client's objectives.
  • Demonstrates dynamism and resourcefulness, excels in prioritization, and thrives under accountability for managing multiple projects with rapid turnaround times.
  • Excellent time management proficiency.
  • In-depth knowledge of the creator space, branded content, and the social/digital advertising landscape.
  • Adept at navigating the intricacies of working with a diverse portfolio of clients, including but not limited to Automotive, TV/Film, Lifestyle, Fashion & Beauty, CPG, and Gaming.
  • Proficiency in Google Slides, Powerpoint, and/or Keynote.
