Job description

Responsibilities
  • Manage all aspects of the Inflight Dependability Policy for a large Flight Attendant team.
  • Provide direction, coaching and counseling to Flight Attendants regarding sick leave, leaves of absence and company policies and procedures.
  • Monitor Flight Attendant ("FA") turnover and absenteeism and assist in the development and implementation of strategies to promote consistent FA availability.
  • Conduct comprehensive internal investigations into potential Flight Attendant misconduct situations, and work with Inflight Services management to administer discipline.
  • Assist management in grievance/arbitration hearings and unemployment hearings concerning FA dependability.
  • Work with Inflight Base Supervisors regarding dependability policies as needed.
  • Administer all attendance reporting and corrective action to all Flight Attendants.
  • Ensure Flight Attendant schedules are properly updated.
  • Assist the Inflight Services Manager and Inflight Services Director with special projects, represent department with functions and serve on committees as necessary.
  • Educate, train, and enforce accountability of Flight Attendants in all aspects of department policy, procedure and protocol.
  • Formally coach and counsel workforce with regard to maintaining company Standards of Dependability.
  • Analyze and evaluate statistical performance data and compile weekly quarterly, and yearly reports regarding overall attendance, leaves of absence and attrition trends.
  • Oversee administration of progressive discipline and job terminations.
  • Make judgments concerning issues requiring consistency, fairness, ensuring a positive impact on the operation, business, and workforce as a whole.
  • Work closely with Payroll regarding pay discrepancies as it relates to FA Dependability.
  • Provide backup to Inflight Base Supervisors as needed during times of absence.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Manager, Inflight Services and the Director, Inflight Services.
Requirements
  • College degree in Business or equivalent work experience preferred.
  • 3 to 5 years of management / supervisory experience preferred.
  • Experience working with union representatives and grievance hearings preferred.
  • Proficiency in CrewTrac, Oracle and MS Office Suite.
  • Possess excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Above average verbal and communication skills.
  • Assertive, self-directed with independent work habits.
  • Ability to coordinate multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Problem solving abilities with an emphasis on working with statistics data.
  • Ability to handle interruptions and fast paced environment.
  • Ability to work with confidential material.
