Infection Preventionist - Staff Development Coordinator Nurse

Come join us at St. Patrick's Residence!ย  Aย Faith-Based, Nonprofit, Short-Term Rehabilitation and Skilled Geriatric Care facility sponsored by the Carmelite Sisters for the Aged and Infirm, we've served the community since 1964.ย  ย We are a place of life, a place of caring, and more importantly, a true home for our residents.ย 

We are seeking to hire an Infection Preventionist / Staff Development Coordinator SDC Nurse

  • $90K to $95K annuallyย based on circumstances including skills, qualifications, degrees and certifications, prior job experience, training, market data, and other relevant factors.ย 

Infection Preventionist / Staff Development Coordinator SDC - Qualifications:

  • Current licensure in the State of Illinois
  • Certification in Infection Control and Epidemiology or Certification of the completion of the โ€œNursing Home Infection Preventionist Training Courseโ€ by CDC.
  • Minimum of 3 yearsโ€™ experience in Long-Term Care.
  • Minimum of 1 year in a nursing supervisory role.
  • Current CPR certification.ย 

Infection Preventionist / Staff Development Coordinator SDC - Job Summary:

  • Develop, implement and evaluate the St. Patrickโ€™s Residence infection prevention program.
  • Develop an annual surveillanceย plan based on the population served, services provided, and analysis of surveillance data.
  • Utilize epidemiologic principles to conduct surveillance and investigation.
  • Develop, interpret and assist with implementation of infection prevention and control policies and protocols.
  • Provide leadership, supervision and educational principles on infection prevention and control for staff.
  • Make daily rounds throughout the facility to assure that personnel are performing infection prevention practices.
  • Participate in the assessment and selection of residents to the facility related to infection prevention and control.
  • Plan, organize, implement, and evaluate educational programs for all nursing home staff based on resident needs and to include all mandated and necessary training and education for the safe and effective operation of the home.
  • Ensure all staff have access to Relias for orientation and on-going training, recordkeeping and notification re issues of non-compliance.
  • Provide hands on nursing care as necessary, as directed and allowed based on IPโ€™s scope of licensure.
