Job description

Assistant Housekeeping Director

The Groves Rehab & Healthcare Center is a three-floor long-term care and skilled nursing community dedicated to providing a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for our residents. We are seeking an Assistant Housekeeping Director to join our team!

The Assistant Housekeeping Director works closely with the Director of Housekeeping to oversee the daily operations of the Housekeeping and Laundry Departments. This position plays a key role in maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness, infection prevention, and resident satisfaction while helping supervise staff and ensuring regulatory compliance.

Assistant Housekeeping Director Duties and Responsibilities Include, but Are Not Limited To:
  • Assist the Director of Housekeeping with the day-to-day operations of the Housekeeping and Laundry Departments.

  • Help supervise, train, coach, and support housekeeping and laundry staff.

  • Conduct routine inspections of resident rooms, common areas, and workspaces to ensure cleanliness, sanitation, and safety standards are met.

  • Assist with scheduling, staffing, and daily assignments to ensure adequate department coverage.

  • Monitor inventory levels and help maintain an appropriate stock of housekeeping and laundry supplies.

  • Ensure departmental policies, procedures, and infection control practices are followed.

  • Work collaboratively with Nursing, Maintenance, Dietary, and other departments to provide excellent resident care.

  • Assist in preparing for state surveys and inspections and help maintain compliance with all federal, state, and facility regulations.

  • Address housekeeping concerns promptly and professionally.

  • Perform housekeeping and laundry duties as needed to support the team.

  • Assume departmental leadership responsibilities in the absence of the Director of Housekeeping.

Assistant Housekeeping Director Position Requirements:
  • Previous housekeeping experience required; healthcare or long-term care experience preferred.

  • Prior supervisory or lead experience preferred.

  • Knowledge of housekeeping procedures, infection control, and safety practices.

  • Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.

  • Ability to work effectively with residents, families, and interdisciplinary staff.

  • Dependable, professional, and committed to providing exceptional service.

  • Ability to lift, bend, push, pull, and stand for extended periods as required.
