Nursing Assistant - Day Shift (3x12.0)
Job Description
Under the general supervision of a Registered Nurse, the Nursing Assistant performs routine tasks in patient care, bedside nursing, and documentation of care provided. This role emphasizes patient and employee safety, adhering to the Select Medical Way and Core Values which include delivering superior quality, treating others respectfully, being results-oriented, and fostering teamwork.
Responsibilities
  • Promote a strong focus on patient and employee safety, including safe patient handling and infection control.
  • Assist patients with menu selections according to prescribed diets while ensuring compliance with food allergies and preferences.
  • Manage patient menus, including updating menu selections based on the most current diet orders.
  • Communicate patient care and food service issues to appropriate departments.
  • Perform clerical assignments in the Food & Nutrition office and maintain organization and efficiency.
  • Participate in departmental meetings and in-services to enhance personal skills and departmental efficiency.
  • Support food service aides and trayline as needed.
  • Perform additional duties as requested by supervisors.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
  • Minimum of two (2) years of bedside clinical experience is required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required (CIRH ONLY, unless mandated by state regulations).
Schedule
This position is for a Day Shift and operates on a 3x12 hour schedule.
Assignment Duration
This is a 13-week contract position.
