About the Position

Premier Workforce is currently seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Hygiene Assistant to join a professional dental team in the Indianapolis area. This is an excellent opportunity for candidates who are passionate about patient care, oral health, and supporting dental professionals in a fast-paced clinical environment.

The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, a positive attitude, and a commitment to delivering exceptional patient experiences while maintaining the highest standards of infection control and clinical support.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare treatment rooms, instruments, and materials for dental hygiene procedures.
  • Assist Dental Hygienists and Dentists during patient examinations and treatments.
  • Escort patients to treatment areas and ensure they are comfortable prior to procedures.
  • Review patient charts, medical histories, and treatment plans before appointments.
  • Verify patient information and update records in accordance with HIPAA guidelines.
  • Obtain and process dental X-rays as required by the dental team.
  • Perform charting of existing restorations, missing teeth, and dental conditions.
  • Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care instructions.
  • Clean, disinfect, package, and sterilize instruments following OSHA, CDC, and office protocols.
  • Maintain inventory of dental supplies and notify management of replenishment needs.
  • Ensure treatment areas remain organized, clean, and compliant with infection control standards.
  • Assist with scheduling, patient flow management, and other administrative duties as needed.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed clinical notes and patient records.
  • Support the dental team in delivering outstanding patient care and customer service.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Previous dental assisting or dental hygiene assisting experience preferred.
  • X-Ray Certification preferred or ability to obtain certification.
  • Coronal Polishing Certification preferred.
  • Current CPR/BLS Certification or willingness to obtain.
  • Knowledge of dental terminology, procedures, and infection control practices.
  • Familiarity with dental software and electronic health records is a plus.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
