Job Description

The Infection Control Nurse/Staff Development Coordinator position requires orienting/training new employees and providing continuing education to employees as needed. This role also overseen infection control for the community

Responsibilities

  • Assist community in receiving state and federally required in-service training

  • Assist with in-servicing related to infection control in accordance with state, federal and internal compliance requirements

  • Establish and maintain core competencies specific infection control

  • Perform Infection Control Facility (ICF) surveillance, Immunizations

  • Prepare and report findings of Infection Control to QAPI Meetings

  • Manage and implement Infection Control Program through monthly surveillance

  • Supervise outbreak management as needed including staff and resident in-services, liaison to Public Health Department and oversight of specimens and logs

Qualifications

  • Must hold current unrestricted license to practice as a Nurse (RN preferred)
  • Must be certified in Infection Prevention and Control

  • Experience in long-term care or geriatric nursing preferred but not required. Background/training in infection control is preferred

  • Current CPR certificate desired
