Job description

Tri-State Overhead Crane continues to grow our customer base and expand into new areas, and we on the lookout for a strong service technician to be part of our team in the Charlotte, NC and Columbia, SC area! We are headquartered in St. Louis with service locations primarily in the Midwest, but customers covering coast to coast. We have 110 employees, so a good size, not too small and not too corporate. We are different in that we design, build/fabricate, install, and inspect/service/repair overhead cranes, so we can cover them through a full life cycle.Keep reading to find out more about the role and the types of skills we look for!As a Service Technician you will run electrical and mechanical diagnostics and deliver required repairs onsite at customer locations. Key responsibilities are going to be troubleshooting and repairing overhead cranes, crane controls, hoists and drives; performing scheduled preventive maintenance activities on equipment; and comprehensive quality inspections of overhead industrial cranes and hoists. You'll need to be able to read and understand work instructions, manuals, schematics, and fabrication drawings.A minimum of 3-5 years of work experience as a technician or mechanic in an industrial environment working on equipment is going to have you on the right path. For this role, we would prefer experience working on overhead cranes, that will allow you to jump right in. The role will work on its own at times, and at other times connect with other techs on assignments. There will be plenty of times you will be exposed to heat, cold, noise and heights.
