Position Summary

The Manufacturing Reliability Technician is responsible for improving the reliability, maintainability, and performance of manufacturing equipment and facility systems. This position supports proactive maintenance strategies, equipment inspections, condition monitoring, root cause failure analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives to maximize equipment uptime, safety, and production efficiency.

Responsibilities

Reliability & Asset Management

  • Maintain equipment history and reliability data within the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
  • Monitor equipment performance and identify emerging reliability issues
  • Analyze failure trends and provide recommendations to improve asset performance
  • Perform reliability inspections on production equipment and facility assets.
  • Execute condition-based monitoring activities including vibration analysis, thermography, ultrasound, oil analysis, and other predictive maintenance techniques.
  • Analyze failure trends and provide recommendations to improve asset performance.

Maintenance Support

  • Support preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
  • Develop and update maintenance job plans, equipment standards, and work instructions.
  • Verify accuracy and effectiveness of PM procedures and recommend improvements.
  • Ensure critical spare parts are identified and managed appropriately.
  • Assist maintenance technicians during major repairs, troubleshooting, and equipment rebuilds.

Continuous Improvement

  • Participate in Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA).
  • Support Lean Manufacturing, TPM, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with engineering, production, and maintenance teams to implement reliability improvements.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce downtime, increase equipment efficiency, and lower maintenance costs.
  • Assist with capital projects, equipment installations, and commissioning activities.

Safety & Compliance

  • Participate in safety audits, risk assessments, and equipment hazard evaluations.
  • Follow company safety procedures and regulatory requirements.
  • Promote a culture of safety and accountability.

Personal Attributes and Experience

  • Associate degree in Industrial Maintenance, Electromechanical Technology, Mechanical Technology, Reliability Engineering Technology, or related field, bachelor's degree in a related engineering field of study preferred.
  • 3+ years of maintenance, reliability, or manufacturing experience preferred.

Work Environment

This job is primarily performed in an office environment. The noise level in the office is generally moderate. While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently interacts with individuals on the plant floor, near moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the production environment is usually loud.

Pay Range

  • $35.00-40.00/hour
