Job description

BHI Energy is seeking a Sr Level Electrical or Mechanical Engineer for a 1+ year contract assignment.
Position requires 50% travel - day trips. (Mankato MN, Red Wing MN, Fresh Island WI)
Looking for candidates that came from a manufacturing background and/or design consulting.
Will be working on managing /supporting power plant construction - Pumps, pipes, switch gears, diagnostics, writing specs, inspecting installation.
Job Details / Essential Job Functions: Engineering and Construction Engineer.
  • Manage power equipment installation and replacement project at multiple sites.
  • Responsible for the design, modeling, development and testing of a machine, structure or system.
  • Develops functional requirements.
  • Understands and applies standard engineering principles.
  • Creates simulations and prototypes to evaluate preliminary designs and test how a machine, structure or system operates.
  • Designs and tests components and integrates components to produce final product.
  • Monitors quality of products and controls the efficiency of processes. Evaluates a design's overall effectiveness, cost, reliability, and safety. Investigates root causes of failures to maintain quality and recommend improvements.
  • This candidate will act as a primary technical resource. Strong coordination skills also required.

Job Requirements
Qualifications / Education / Experience:
Cross functional team experience in addition to power generation, facilities experience and strong project management experience, with the ability to speak to examples/experience.
  • Microsoft Suite: Office, Teams
  • Previous experience in Utility (Heavy Industry)
  • Strong Communication
  • Previous experience as an Industrial Engineer,
  • Previous experience in Construction, Design, and Manufactory Facilities
  • Required - bachelor's degree (Electrical or Mechanical); ABET Accredited School
