We currently have an opening for an Operations Manager for Industrial Physics in our Greensboro, North Carolina location.

Role Overview
Industrial Physics is seeking a dynamic and results-driven Operations Manager to lead our Greensboro, NC facility. This site is the global hub for the SpecMetrix brand, known for its industry-leading, high-precision measurement systems used in coatings and layer thickness applications.
In this role, you will be responsible for the end-to-end operational success of the plant floor. Reporting directly to the CFO, you will play a critical role in aligning Operations output with financial objectives, ensuring operational efficiency, and maintaining a healthy bottom line. The specific scope of direct reports and seniority level for this role will be tailored based on the candidate's experience, spanning from frontline supervision to strategic departmental management.
Core Responsibilities
โ€ข Operational Leadership: Manage day-to-day operations across Assembly, Quality, Procurement, and Logistics.
โ€ข Financial Alignment: Work closely with the CFO to manage operational budgets, COGS (Cost of Goods Sold), and capital expenditure projects.
โ€ข Operations Planning: Align Operations schedules with global sales demand to ensure on-time delivery (OTD) of complex metrology equipment.
โ€ข Quality Oversight: Partner with the Quality department to maintain the high precision standards required for SpecMetrix optical interference technology.
โ€ข Supply Chain Coordination: Work closely with Procurement to manage vendor relationships, mitigate supply chain risks, and optimize inventory flow and working capital.
โ€ข Continuous Improvement: Implement Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies to reduce waste, improve cycle times, and enhance site throughput.
โ€ข Safety & Compliance: Foster a "safety-first" culture, ensuring full compliance with OSHA regulations and environmental standards.
โ€ข Team Development: Mentor and develop a team of direct reports, tailoring leadership style to the experience level of individual contributors and staff.

Requirements
Qualifications & Requirements
โ€ข Experience: 5-10+ years of experience in manufacturing leadership, preferably within high-tech instrumentation, metrology, or industrial equipment sectors.
โ€ข Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or a related technical field is preferred; equivalent technical leadership experience will be considered.
โ€ข Financial Literacy: Strong understanding of manufacturing finance, including inventory management, labor efficiency, and P&L impact.
โ€ข Technical Savvy: Comfort managing the Operations of sophisticated hardware/software integrated products.
โ€ข Leadership Flexibility: Proven ability to manage diverse functional areas (Logistics, Quality, Assembly) with a focus on coaching and accountability.
