Your role and responsibilities:
The Maintenance Manager leads all maintenance, reliability, and asset management activities for the Fort Smith manufacturing facility, driving equipment reliability, operational excellence, and manufacturing performance through a comprehensive Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) strategy. This role oversees the development and execution of Operator Preventive Maintenance (OPM), Preventive Maintenance (PM), Predictive Maintenance (PdM), and Reliability-Centered Maintenance (RCM) programs, leveraging technologies such as condition monitoring, vibration analysis, thermal imaging, oil analysis, and CMMS tools to proactively prevent equipment failures.
The position fosters a reliability-focused culture by driving continuous improvement in key performance indicators including MTBF, MTTR, OEE, uptime, and maintenance costs. The Maintenance Manager leads Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) efforts and collaborates cross-functionally to improve safety, quality, delivery, and cost performance while ensuring sustainable asset reliability and operational excellence.

You will be mainly accountable for:
  • Lead and continuously improve maintenance, reliability, and TPM programs by implementing proactive, preventive, predictive, and operator-driven maintenance strategies that maximize equipment performance and uptime.
  • Drive asset reliability and operational excellence through CMMS analytics, reliability metrics (MTBF, MTTR, OEE), root cause failure analysis, lifecycle planning, and Industry 4.0 technologies.
  • Manage maintenance operations, resources, and budgets by optimizing planning and scheduling, developing technical talent, controlling costs, and ensuring effective support for capital projects and facility growth.
  • Ensure safe, compliant, and efficient plant operations by meeting regulatory and corporate requirements, supporting plant performance objectives, and leading maintenance response to critical equipment and operational issues.

Qualifications for the role:
  • Bachelor's Degree with minimum 10 years OR Associate's Degree with minimum 12 years OR High School Diploma with minimum 14 years of maintenance experience working in a manufacturing environment. Including hands-on troubleshooting of PLCs, industrial controls, electrical and mechanical systems, and automated production equipment.
  • Demonstrated expertise in TPM, Reliability-Centered Maintenance (RCM), asset management, and proactive maintenance programs, including OPM, PM, PdM, and Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA).
  • Strong knowledge of predictive maintenance technologies and reliability methodologies, including vibration analysis, thermography, ultrasound, oil analysis, condition monitoring, and reliability KPI management (MTBF, MTTR, OEE, uptime).
  • Experience utilizing CMMS platforms (SAP preferred) for maintenance planning, scheduling, resource management, reliability analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Proven leadership in automated manufacturing environments, with the ability to develop teams, drive cultural change, manage budgets and capital projects, and deliver operational excellence.
  • Excellent communication, coaching, project management, and cross-functional collaboration skills; Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, TPM, CMRP, CRL, or related certifications preferred.
  • Candidates must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.
