Job description

Summary:

This position is responsible for Industrial Hygiene activities in the USA. The role of the Industrial Hygienist is to ensure that all Occupational Health (IH) related programs for Roger's facilities in the USA are implemented and managed to meet regulatory compliance and Rogers best practice guidelines. This is a corporate role that will also be responsible for maintaining and continuously improving environmental, health and safety management systems.

Essential Functions:
  • Develops, implements, leads, and audits US IH programs and policies.
  • Determines sampling strategy and conducts workplace monitoring to meet regulatory requirements/Rogers' guidance, to help ensure Rogers's employees work in a safe environment.
  • Manages the annual IH surveys to be conducted at all Rogers US locations directly by this position. Includes equipment management, lab coordination, report writing and employee notifications.
  • Analyzes/interprets sampling data results and compares to establish exposure limits (i.e. PELs, Als, STELs, TLVs, etc.)
  • Identifies and recommends controls to reduce exposure levels to sampling analytes
  • Assesses new materials coming into the manufacturing environment to determine potential health threats and ensures appropriate precautions are taken.
  • Maintains current understanding of material hazards, regulations and best practice.
  • Develops and conducts training/mentoring of core IH principles to site EHS engineers and factory employees as necessary.
  • All other duties as assigned by manager
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Hygiene, Occupational Safety and Health, Environmental Health/Management, or Certification by the American Board of Industrial Hygiene as a Certified Industrial Hygienist.  May consider equivalent work experience in lieu of degree.
  • 2+ years of experience in Industrial Hygiene or related field, preferably in a manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge of OSHA, NIOSH, ANSI and ACGIH standards
  • Knowledge of ventilation systems
  • Effective communication skills and comfortability providing training for groups of employees and mentorship of IH compliance programs to EHS professionals
