Job description

STS Technical Services is currently seeking a proactive Industrial Engineer to join our team in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, at Global Power Components. The ideal candidate will be involved in hands-on support and continuous improvement projects for the production of engineered-to-order (ETO) products. This role offers the opportunity to create and refine standard operating procedures, contribute to production and quality goals, and engage in innovative projects like fixture design and capital equipment assessments.
Responsibilities
  • Provide hands-on support for day-to-day production challenges and contribute to mid and long-term continuous improvement projects.
  • Develop and refine standard operating procedures, focusing on safety, ergonomics, and production efficiency.
  • Lead quality and production goal assessments and improvements, serving as a technical liaison for production staff and management.
  • Engage in special projects including fixture design, capital equipment evaluation, and project scoping.
  • Play a key role in team leadership and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams including Safety, Quality Control, and Purchasing.

Requirements
  • Deep understanding of and ability to become a subject matter expert in manufacturing processes.
  • Strong interest in a hands-on, dynamic role on the production floor, capable of managing multiple projects with shifting priorities.
  • Effective teamwork skills, able to collaborate with other engineers and departments.
  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or a related discipline.
