If you are an ENGINEERING professional looking for an opportunity to grow, Copeland/Alliance Compressors has an exciting opportunity for you! Based in Rushville, IN, you will work as part of the Manufacturing Engineering team to accomplish the manufacturing goals of safety, quality, productivity, and cost. You will monitor key manufacturing objectives and develop and execute projects that align with company's performance goals.

AS AN INDUSTRIAL ENGINEER, YOU WILL:

  • Troubleshoot problems associated with manufacturing processes (line balance, time studies, layouts, etc.)

  • Has thorough knowledge of and experience with Lean Principles and methodologies: Waste Elimination, Value Stream Mapping, 5S+1, Kanban Pull System, and Quick Changeover.

  • Copeland Business System lead and is a problem solver and fluent in Structured Problem-Solving methods: PDCA, Six Sigma, 8D.

  • Analyzes and creates Standardized Work and Work Instructions to optimize process efficiencies in production, material flow, and equipment layouts.

  • Develop and lead Lean Manufacturing initiatives (to improve throughput, Manufacturing Cycle Time (MCT), Machine Changeover, and Inventory Control) and be able to train associates.

  • Manages cost reduction program

  • Plans, charts, executes, and sustains key facility, operations, and warehouse projects (e.g.,recycling management, line rate improvement, and storage capacity utilization).

  • Provides technical support on new construction and modifications to existing facility assets.

  • Completes other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:

  • Bachelor's degree in industrial/manufacturing engineering, or a related field.

  • 3-5 years of industrial/quality/continuous improvement /manufacturing engineering experience in a mass volume production environment, along with knowledge and experience in lean manufacturing principles.

  • Excellent communication (listening, meeting facilitation, project report-outs, etc.).

  • Well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Project management experience.

  • Self-driven, positive, enthusiastic, and willing to respectfully challenge the status quo.

  • Competent with a host of software packages including Minitab, Visio, AutoCAD, and Microsoft 365.

  • Legal authorization to work in the United States - Sponsorship will not be provided for this position.

PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS:

  • Structured Problem Solving / Lean Six-Sigma certification.

  • Experience in setting up new processes or production lines.

Schedule

Assembly operates on a 4-day, 10-hour work-shift schedule. Salaried employees who are not front-line supervisors work five days to support this arrangement. They can choose between working extended hours from Monday to Thursday with a half day on Friday, or they can opt for full eight-hour workdays from Monday to Friday.

About Our Location

Our 2-building campus offers a safe and clean work environment with a "family" atmosphere. We manufacture new semi-hermetic compressors and take the worn-out, failed compressors out of the field and remanufacture them to "like new" status, as well as manufacture crank shafts. Approximately 200 employees work in Rushville and are an integral part of our organization. A 2-building campus allows for learning and growth opportunities for all our team.
