ODW Logistics is a people-focused and customer-driven third-party logistics (3PL) provider committed to delivering seamless end-to-end supply chain solutions. Our extensive range of services includes supply chain design and innovation, warehousing, efficient distribution and fulfillment, freight brokerage, transportation management, and specialized e-commerce fulfillment solutions.
Summary/Objective
The Industrial Engineer II is responsible for supporting and leading process management and improvement across all areas of operations, including forward distribution, e-commerce fulfillment, and pick-and-pack operations. This role supports the development and implementation of technical solutions and drives overall optimization of space, labor, equipment, and material handling systems to meet new client requirements and continuous improvement opportunities within existing operations.
This is a hands-on, on-the-floor role that leads mid-level to complex projects, provides guidance to operations leaders, and partners directly with site leadership and hourly teams to drive execution. The Industrial Engineer II plays a key role in delivering operational improvements through data-driven analysis, Lean initiatives, and effective resource planning.
Essential Functions

  • Conduct project scoping focused on meeting strategic customer needs while optimizing existing processes, labor, space, and equipment.
  • Lead analysis activities and needs assessments to support ODW business objectives by delivering quantifiable results through process improvement initiatives.
  • Develop process flows, time studies, and value stream mapping (VSM) to document current-state operations and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Lead and drive Lean initiatives, promoting Lean thinking, problem-solving, and continuous improvement behaviors throughout operations.
  • Analyze labor performance and productivity, including forecasting, reporting methods, systems, and procedures; establish, implement, and maintain labor standards to support operational goals.
  • Produce and maintain CAD facility layouts to support space optimization, capacity planning, and client placement decisions.
  • Evaluate, recommend, and support the procurement, implementation, and startup of capital equipment, including material handling systems.
  • Support the design and implementation of material handling and automation solutions (conveyance, sortation, robotics, and related technologies).
  • Provide and implement continuous improvement and cost leadership strategies across operations.
  • Maintain accountability for project completion and performance, including targeted KPI achievement and ROI.
  • Support short- and long-term resource planning for labor, space, and equipment to align with operational demand and growth.
  • Maximize safety, service, quality, and productivity through best-practice approaches in facility layout, methods engineering, material handling concepts, and performance measurement.
  • Provide senior management with data-driven insights and recommendations to improve utilization of people, materials, equipment, facilities, and resources.
  • Establish and implement operational procedures for startup operations, including facility layout and design, labor standards, resource planning, inbound processes, order fulfillment strategies, and material handling system design and implementation.
  • Be adept at retrieving and analyzing data from multiple sources (WMS, TMS, LMS, and shipping systems) and translating findings into actionable improvement plans.
  • Apply quality systems and process controls to ensure consistent, repeatable, and scalable operations.
  • Facilitate the sharing of best practices across ODW operations.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience
  • 3+ years of Industrial Engineering experience preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering required
  • Advanced Engineering degree or MBA a plus
  • Experience developing optimized facility layouts using CAD
  • Experience evaluating, purchasing, and supporting capital equipment and production startups
  • Experience with material handling systems and automation in distribution or manufacturing environments
  • Lean training with demonstrated ability to apply Lean tools and methodologies
  • Knowledge of quality systems and process controls, particularly applicable to operations and manufacturing environments
  • Strong analytical and data-driven mindset with the ability to identify solutions through detailed analysis
  • Hands-on approach with the ability to work effectively with operations leadership and frontline team members
