Job description

Job Title: Sales Engineer (Cooling Systems)
Location: Remote - U.S.
Employment Type: Salaried direct employee
Industry: Data Center
Compensation: $120K target, up to $130K base plus lucrative commission plan
Schedule: M-F days

The ideal candidate will have extensive front-line new customer facing sales experience with broad refrigeration industry knowledge. Experience selling to data centers is a strong plus due to knowledge of commercial and industrial cooling systems and related power needs.

About the Opportunity:
The Sales Engineer (Cooling Systems) is responsible for driving sales growth by developing customer relationships, identifying new business opportunities, and providing technical solutions for commercial and industrial cooling applications. This role serves as the primary link between customers, engineering, and operations to ensure solutions meet customer requirements while supporting the organization's strategic growth objectives.

The position involves prospecting, cold calling, developing client relationships, negotiating opportunities, and securing new business through various communication channels.

What You'll Do:
  • Develop and maintain relationships with contractors, consulting engineers, OEMs, end users, and distribution partners.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities within target markets including data centers, industrial refrigeration, power generation, and commercial HVAC.
  • Prepare technical and commercial proposals based on customer requirements and project specifications.
  • Collaborate with Application Engineering and Product Management teams to develop optimized cooling solutions.
  • Review project drawings, specifications, and bid documents to ensure compliance and accuracy.
  • Conduct product presentations, technical training, and customer visits.
  • Support negotiations, contract reviews, and project handoffs to internal teams.
  • Maintain an active sales pipeline and provide accurate forecasts through CRM systems.
  • Attend industry trade shows, customer events, and networking opportunities.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and emerging technologies.

What You'll Bring (Requirements):
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, HVAC, Business, or related field; equivalent industry experience may be considered.
  • Minimum 3 years of sales, application engineering, and technical sales experience that includes HVAC, industrial refrigeration, heat transfer, or cooling system applications, and the ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Min 3 years of experience with Microsoft Office and CRM software.
  • Ability to travel up to 50% along with a background traveling nationally

What Sets You Apart (Preferred):
  • Experience selling cooling systems, heat exchangers, condensers, dry coolers, adiabatic coolers, or refrigeration equipment.
  • Experience supporting data center or industrial cooling applications.
  • Knowledge of ASHRAE standards and HVAC industry practices.
  • Experience with ERP systems such as SAP.
