Job Summary:
The Painter must effectively and safely perform coatings application and all associated phases of industrial coatings.
  • Applies coatings to various structures, tanks, piping, and miscellaneous surfaces in accordance with customers' specifications and manufacturers' recommendations.
  • Assembles, maintains, repairs, and cleans painting equipment.
  • Mix and thin the coatings according to the manufacturer's recommendations.
  • Construct protective enclosures to avoid overspray of customers' equipment.
  • Assist in loading, unloading, and storage of equipment and supplies.
  • At all times perform work in the safest possible manner.
  • Immediately correct any unsafe condition.
  • Perform onsite QA/QC functions, including paperwork and evaluation of employees.

Requirements and Education:
  • The painter must be highly productive, experienced in the multiple crafts involved, and an expert in the mechanic and use of all equipment, materials, and procedures necessary for the safe and effective application of coatings.
  • They must be proficient in spraying to maintain even milage.
  • Must have knowledge of Hazardous waste management.
  • Must be proficient in all Safety aspects of his craft.
  • Must be proficient in QA/QC requirements of his craft.

Preferred Requirements and Education:
  • Must possess knowledge of and experience in different coatings. (Epoxy, urethanes, polyesters, vinylesters.)
