What are some common challenges faced by freelance industrial colorists when working with multiple clients and projects simultaneously?

Freelance industrial colorists often juggle multiple projects at once, each with unique requirements, deadlines, and creative visions from various clients. This can make time management and effective communication crucial, as clients may request last-minute changes or have different expectations. Maintaining consistency in color grading across diverse projects while adapting to different workflows and software can also be challenging. Building strong client relationships and setting clear expectations upfront can help navigate these complexities and ensure successful project delivery.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Freelance Industrial Colorist, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Freelance Industrial Colorist, you need in-depth knowledge of color theory, materials, and industrial design principles, often supported by a background in fine arts or industrial design. Proficiency in industry-standard software like Adobe Creative Suite and color calibration tools is typically required. Strong communication, creativity, and attention to detail help build client trust and deliver tailored solutions. These skills are crucial for producing visually compelling, high-quality work that meets client specifications and market trends.

Freelancers in this field provide their services on a project basis, offering flexibility and specialized expertise to a range of clients.

As AI continues to reshape the creative industry, we are expanding our team with experienced artists and filmmakers who can help define the future of commercial content creation while delivering work at the level expected by the world's leading brands across beauty and cosmetics, automotive, food and beverage, consumer electronics, retail, fashion, and other major industries.

The Role

We're building a next-generation AI creative team and are looking for experienced artists, filmmakers, and visual storytellers who can create client-ready AI-generated imagery and video.

The ideal candidate has a background in commercial production, filmmaking, VFX, animation, motion design, editing, or post-production and understands how to apply those skills within modern AI workflows.

Responsibilities
  • Create high-quality AI-generated images and videos for commercial projects
  • Translate creative briefs into compelling visual concepts and finished deliverables
  • Develop strong visual storytelling through composition, cinematography, editing, pacing, and shot design
  • Generate, direct, and refine content using leading AI image and video tools
  • Enhance outputs through compositing, retouching, color grading, VFX, and finishing workflows
  • Collaborate with creative directors, producers, designers, and editors
  • Help develop new AI production workflows and creative best practices
  • Stay current with emerging AI tools and technologies

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in film, commercial production, VFX, animation, motion design, editing, or post-production
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating both traditional creative craft and AI-generated work
  • Experience with tools such as Veo, Kling, Seedance, Runway, Luma, Midjourney, Flux, and ComfyUI
  • Strong understanding of visual storytelling, cinematography, composition, editing, and color
  • Proficiency with tools such as After Effects, Nuke, Resolve, Premiere, Maya, Cinema 4D, Houdini, or similar
  • Ability to take projects from concept through final delivery
Who Should Apply

We're looking for artists who can deliver polished, production-ready AI content at a professional commercial standard. Whether your background is film, VFX, animation, post-production, or AI-native creation, what matters most is your ability to create exceptional work for brands, agencies, and creative teams.

Exceptional freelancers may be considered for full-time opportunities as our AI team continues to grow.
