We have seven locations:  North, West, Davenport, Bettendorf, Camp Abe Lincoln, Childcare and Maquoketa. 

Job Description

Under the general direction of the Youth Sports Director, the Sports Official is responsible for the health, safety, and welfare of each child enrolled in the program.  He or she demonstrates leadership, shows active participation and enthusiasm on the court or field. He or she also serves as a positive and wholesome role model to all participants and other staff in accordance with the policies and procedures of the Scott County Family Y. Sports he or she will officiate include:

Soccer, Basketball, Floor Hockey, Flag Football, T-Ball, Softball, Volleyball, Track, Indoor Soccer and Indoor Baseball.  Sports events will occur at various locations in Iowa Quad Cities.

Qualifications

No experience refereeing is necessary but the person must have knowledge of the sport and basic understanding of the rules.

  • Current  CPR Certification
  • Current AED Certification
  • Current First Aid Certification
  • Mandatory Reporter

* Certifications required within 60 days of hire date -training provided by the YMCA if not currently certified.

* Illinois or Iowa High School Athletic Union certification as
an official preferred, but not required

Physical Qualifications:  Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds. Be able to run to be able to keep up with the pace of play
