About This Role

Bright Ideas is a Quality First participant with a 4.86 quality star rating. We offer a warm supportive environment that assists in continuing education, and the well-being of all of our staff. The Teacher Assistant supports the Teachers and the Director by helping to create a caring and safe environment for the children and assisting in activities to improve the overall care and quality of education. S/he must be able to communicate, listen and work well with others in a team environment. Assisting the staff in implementing a quality educational program and in developing positive relationships with the children and their parents, the Teacher Assistant observes and documents children’s interest and progress, and relays that information back to parents and staff. Teacher Assistant are responsible for implementing developmentally appropriate activities based on children’s interests and needs under the direction of the Teacher and the Director.


What You'll Do
  • Help the lead teacher plan fun daily activities and games.
  • Keep children safe during indoor play, outdoor recess, and snack times.
  • Set up art supplies, books, and learning toys before class starts.
  • Comfort children when they feel sad or need extra help.
  • Talk with parents about how their child did during the day.

Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED certificate.
  • At least six months of experience working with young children.
  • Valid fingerprint clearance card for Arizona or ability to get one.
  • Basic first aid and CPR certification.

Nice To Haves
  • Associate degree in early childhood education.
  • Bilingual skills in English and Spanish.
  • Past experience in a licensed daycare or preschool.
