Job description

Who we are:
The Orlando Pirates are a professional football team that competes in the Indoor Football League. Going into our 9th year as an organization, the Orlando Pirates have made multiple title game appearances and won the IFL Championship in 2021. The Orlando Pirates play during the spring/summer and are looking to add Social Media Interns in our quest for another championship.
Position Overview:
The Orlando Pirates are looking for a creative, energetic, and sports-minded Social Media Intern to help bring the team to life across digital platforms. This is a hands-on opportunity to gain real-world experience in professional indoor football while creating engaging content that connects with fans and grows the Pirates' presence on social media. If you love sports, social media, and creating content, this role gives you the chance to be part of the action both on and off the field.
As a Social Media Intern, you'll work closely with the marketing team to create, capture, and share content throughout the season. You'll help cover game days, practices, community events, and team activities while staying on top of current social media trends. This role provides valuable experience in content creation, social media management, and sports marketing in a fast-paced environment where you'll have the opportunity to help shape the Orlando Pirates' brand and fan experience.
Responsibilities:
  • Provide social media coverage across platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, X, and TikTok, helping maintain a consistent and engaging presence throughout the season.
  • Create game-day content featuring player arrivals, warmups, fan experiences, celebrations, highlights, promotions, and behind-the-scenes moments.
  • Capture in-game promotions, mascot appearances, community engagement, and other fan-focused moments that showcase the team experience.
  • Stay up to date on social media trends across platforms.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Marketing to develop and execute digital media initiatives that support the team's brand and marketing goals.
  • Capture high-quality photo and video content during home games, practices, community events, and special team activities.

Skills and Qualifications:
  • Interest in social media, content creation, sports, marketing, public relations, or communications.
  • Familiar with TikTok, Instagram, X, and Facebook.
  • Basic experience with video editing using CapCut, Adobe Premiere Pro, Canva, or similar programs is a plus.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple tasks and meeting a certain deadline.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, live event environment.
  • Maintain a professional and positive representation of the organization when interacting with players, coaches, sponsors, and fans.
  • Must be willing and able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by the team schedule.

We are an equal opportunity employer and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, age, disability, gender identity, marital or veteran status, or any other protected class.
