Position Description & Qualifications Looking for a Operations Supervisor opportunity at a place you can make a difference every day? This position is contingent upon your ability to maintain/transfer your Security clearance. Serco supports the U.S. Space Force as a prime for their Ground-Based Electro-Optical Deep Space Surveillance (GEODSS) contract to manage and obtain metric observations of specific objects daily and help maintain the sensors, support equipment, and the facility that houses it at Detachment 2, Naval Support Facility in Diego Garcia, British Indian Ocean Territory (BIOT).

This mission is vital to keeping existing satellites safe and to provide critical information to organizations launching new satellites in the future. This optical sensor is employed at three different locations around the world (White Sands Missile Range, New Mexico; Diego Garcia, British Indian Ocean Territory; and Maui, Hawaii) and helps track the objects in deep space orbit (altitude of 10,000 to 45,000 km). You will help operate and maintain three, one-meter telescopes equipped with highly sensitive digital cameras.

You'll respond to Government taskings to obtain metric observations of specific objects daily and help maintain the sensors, support equipment, and the facility that houses it at Detachment 2, Naval Support Facility in Diego Garcia, British Indian Ocean Territory (BIOT). In this role, you will: * Manage and direct operations, planning, maintenance and support activities providing 24x7 support for all optical sensor operations functions at the mission location.

* Manage and direct sensor mission taskings in accordance with applicable publications and direction. * Manage workforce to operate available sensors during the operational period to meet taskings. * Manage workforce mission scheduling validating routine and special metric taskings, Space Object Identification (SOI) signature gathering and raw video collection, to be accomplished during the operational period.

* Review and validate SOI taskings to maximize system accomplishment of daily, weekly, and monthly tasking requirements. * Collect, verify, and report mission workload data. * Manage scheduling, special sensor settings and other special techniques.

* Review operations, security events, equipment status, authorized software changes, shift changes, changing of the Zulu day, and any other significant events in an operations log. * Verify sensor and mount calibrations are completed in accordance with applicable directives. * Assure Operators perform operational checkout and pre-mission preparations for mission equipment.

* Review operations logs for compliance. * Review post-mission activities, including specified disposition of logs and recorded data. * Act as primary coordinator/reporter of the System Requirements Validation Board.

* Process visit requests, badging, provide physical security training, coordinate escorts. * Act as primary or alternate AT/FP Representative. * Comply with all security procedures for OPSEC and COMSEC.

* Validate electronic technicians conduct daily operational and performance checkout of equipment and systems. * Train and certify employees performing sensor operations to include initial, recurring and ancillary training * Develop tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs) to meet expanding mission requirements. * Lead Tactics Improvement Proposal (TIP) development and Technical Order system improvement activities.

* Provide coordination and control of resources including recording media, safety, and security in support of the site mission. * Perform multiple additional duties and other duties as assigned by the site manager. * Performs as site manager when site manager is not on site or unavailable.

* Performs other duties as assigned. To be successful in this role, you will have: * This position is contingent upon your ability to maintain/transfer Security clearance (Secret). * A U.S.

Citizenship and a valid United States passport. * A bachelor's d egree and 2 years of experience * or a A High School Diploma or GED equivalent A minimum of 6 years with sensor operations. * Experience operating optical sensors.

* Knowledge of the space surveillance network and satellite catalog. * The ability to excel in a fast-paced program office environment and possess attention to detail. * To successfully pass a background check and drug screen.

* The ability to successfully take and pass a medical physical exam prior to travel to Diego Garcia. * Travel up to 10% Additional desired experience and skills: * PMI Institute Project Management Professional or Lean Six Sigma certification. * DoD 8570 Compliant IAT Level II Certification; Security+ or above is preferred.
