As an Indian Babysitter, families may expect you to help reinforce cultural traditions, values, and potentially language skills, especially if the children are bilingual or learning Hindi or another Indian language. You might assist with cultural practices such as preparing traditional meals, teaching about Indian festivals, or encouraging respect for elders. While your primary responsibility remains childcare, understanding and supporting the family's cultural preferences helps children maintain a strong sense of identity. This added cultural context can make your role more fulfilling and valuable to the families you serve. Being proactive and open in communication about cultural expectations will make for a smoother and more rewarding work experience.
To thrive as an Indian Babysitter, you need experience in childcare, knowledge of child development, and often familiarity with Indian cultural values, customs, and languages. Basic first aid training and certifications such as CPR are highly valued, along with the ability to use child monitoring devices or apps if required. Patience, cultural sensitivity, strong communication, and adaptability help you connect well with both children and their families. These skills ensure the safety, well-being, and meaningful cultural support needed for children in Indian households.
An Indian Babysitter is responsible for taking care of children while incorporating Indian cultural values, language, and traditions. They may help with feeding, playing, tutoring, and ensuring the child’s safety. Some Indian Babysitters also assist with introducing Indian customs, festivals, and language skills. Their role can vary based on family needs, including part-time or full-time positions.

Charlotte's Best Nanny Agency is assisting a family in Indian Trail, NC (moving to Mint Hill, NC in 2027), in finding a Full-Time nanny for their two boys, ages 4 years old and 16 months old. The nanny would be needed Monday 9:00 am - 1:00 pm, Tuesday - Thursday 9:00 am - 5:00 pm, and Friday 9:00 am - 1:00 pm. It would be a plus if the nanny could be available for an additional 4 hours one weekend night per month for a date night.
The best nanny would be warm, nurturing, dependable, and highly engaged. This should be an individual who genuinely enjoys caring for children and sees this role as a meaningful, long-term position. Reliability, clear communication, initiative, and consistency matter deeply to this family, and they're looking for someone who takes direction and follows through without needing direction.
Each day, the nanny would come in and be able to meet the daily needs and routines of two children and provide a consistent and nurturing environment. This family is active and outdoors-focused; their oldest child thrives on interactive play and hands-on activities, while their youngest loves sensory exploration and tactile projects. The children love being active, playing outside, going to parks, reading, imaginative play, building and creating, music, and exploring.
This position requires a creative and energized nanny who can tailor activities to each child's interests and developmental stage. Being proactive and taking initiative in planning developmentally appropriate activities and naturally weaving learning and exploration into the day through play, reading, outdoor time, and creative projects would be expected. Early childhood education experience and a passion for teaching would be a plus, as the mom is hoping to homeschool the children when they are older.
It is important that the nanny is able to build strong relationships with the children while encouraging their independence. Strong communication skills are valued by the family. The family is looking for a nanny who will become a trusted long-term nanny and will be a part of the family's life for years to come.
Nanny Responsibilities Include:
Meeting daily scheduling needs of the children
Engaging with the children on an age-appropriate level
Playing with the children both inside and outside the home
Doing hands-on learning activities with the children
Household Duties Include:
Children's laundry
Children's meal prep
Cleaning up children's meals and snacks
Washing children's dishes
Tidying play areas and toys
Keeping children's spaces organized
Restocking children's supplies
Pets: The family has one large Great Pyrenees Mix (approximately 100 pounds). He is part of the family, so the nanny should be comfortable around large dogs. Pet care responsibilities would be minimal, such as occasionally filling his food or water bowl as needed. Walking or other regular pet care would not be expected.
Qualifications:
Have at least 3 years of professional nanny experience
Have a college degree or equivalent experience
Have a professional resume
Fill out a complete online application
Pass a pre-screening interview with Charlotte's Best Nanny Agency
Pass a national background check, including a driving record check
Have a valid driver's license
Have safe and reliable transportation
Have a minimum of three professional references
Be non-smoking/vaping
CPR and First Aid Certified
Nanny should be fluent in English
Start Date, Salary, and Benefits:
This position ideally starts on August 24th, 2026
Legal pay is offered at $27 - $30 an hour
Continued pay while the family is away
