Job description

Applicant Interviewer

Global Educational Concepts (GEC) helps international students and professionals travel to the U.S. each year to participate in a variety of cultural exchange programs. Our short-term exchange programs encourage and support public diplomacy through people to people relationships that promote peace and mutual understanding. GEC participants work and train across the U.S., gaining new skills and experiencing American culture while also sharing their culture with us. Our programs are governed by the U.S. Department of State, supporting and building upon their mission of public diplomacy and mutual understanding between nations, one exchange student at a time. Through these life changing experiences, we build the bridge between different countries, cultures, and people, striving every day to make a difference in the world.

The Applicant Interviewer is responsible for conducting pre-screening interviews for sponsors of the Exchange Visitor program. This position follows a Company script to screen applicants through a documented video conference interview. The Applicant Interviewer provides documentation of the interviews and is the first point of contact representing the Company. This position provides excellent customer service to team members and customers while demonstrating the Company values and supporting the mission.

Job Duties And Responsibilities
  • Confirm applicants' identity according to application ID upload
  • Follow the Company script through a documented video conference interview and document responses
  • Screen applicants for English language skills and their understanding of the program to include Company program rules, regulations, and purpose
  • Grade interview result
  • Submit completed interview documentation
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 2 years of experience in a customer service, front desk, receptionist or call center role
  • Ability to obtain a personal laptop or desktop with web camera and high speed streaming internet
  • Ability to work within the peak season schedule as assigned
  • Ability to effectively work in collaboration with others to achieve business objectives
  • Effective oral and written communication skills and excellent interpersonal skills
  • Attention to detail, critical thinker and problem-solving skills
  • High standards for integrity, honesty, professionalism, and work ethic
  • Commitment to service excellence
  • Ability to work independently while demonstrating excellent organization and follow through
  • Demonstrates flexible and efficient time management and ability to prioritize workload
