As independent contractors, they are not employees but provide specific services under a contract, handling their own taxes and benefits. This arrangement offers flexibility and the chance to explore different locations while earning income. Work campers often perform tasks such as maintenance, guest services, or groundskeeping in exchange for wages, a campsite, or both.
