We operate from our own Safe Quality Foods (SQF) certified, FDA and USDA inspected food production and cold storage facility, which we share with our sister company, Western Deli Provisions, Inc.

Western Deli Provisions, Inc. is an independent wholesale food distributor that supplies products from select manufacturers to clients throughout the Denver Metro Area and the Colorado Front Range. WDP is the exclusive distributor of Thumann’s brand delicatessen products in the Rocky Mountain Region.

Clients for both companies include restaurants, retail stores, sports facilities, and caterers who appreciate high-quality food products and expect excellent customer service.

Job description

Full time, 6am – 3pm, Monday-Friday

Occasional additional hours as needed

The Plant Maintenance Technician is responsible for the daily inspection and upkeep of the facility and its equipment. This team member designs and follows a preventative maintenance schedule, working proactively to ensure that plant machinery and delivery vehicles remain in proper working order at all times. The Plant Maintenance Technician works collaboratively with managers, service providers, and co-workers to address issues that arise in a constructive, safe, and efficient manner.

Primary Duties

· Assist the plant foreman with set-up of food production and packaging machines.

· Routinely inspect plant machinery, equipment, and delivery vehicles.

· Maintain inventory of necessary parts, supplies, and tools.

· Identify and report all needed repairs to the plant foreman and operations manager.

· Perform or arrange for needed maintenance and repairs.

· Interface with service providers, contractors, and inspectors.

· Maintain written maintenance records and receipts.

· Adhere to all safety regulations and standards.

Additional Duties

· Assist with pickup, delivery, and warehousing as needed.

· Operate and train others to use the forklift.

· Remove snow from delivery dock and sidewalks.

· Inspect and clean dock sump pump.

· Set up and maintain seasonal landscape irrigation.

· Other duties as assigned

Knowledge & Skills (Required)

· High school diploma or equivalent.

· Valid driver’s license.

· Basic knowledge of mechanics.

· Ability to read, understand, and follow maintenance and repair instructions.

· Ability to use computer technology to develop and follow schedules, support duties, and maintain records.

Knowledge & Skills (Desired)

· Trade or technical school training in applicable area(s).

· Previous mechanical and/or maintenance work experience.

· Welding skills a plus.

· Initiative and ability to acquire new skills and certifications.

· Strong interpersonal communication skills.

· Bilingual in English & Spanish.

Physical Demands

· Extended periods of standing and walking.

· Regular bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling.

· Frequent lifting of 25–50 lbs

· Working in varied temperatures, including cold storage and freezer

Compensation

· $25 - $28/hour to start, depending on skills and experience

· Possibility of raise after 6 months and annually thereafter, depending on performance
