Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled Mainframe Assembler Developer with strong experience in the Credit Card Authorization domain to join our client’s core processing team in Omaha, NC. The ideal candidate will possess a solid background in Assembler, COBOL, JCL, and CICS, with a focus on transaction-heavy, high-performance systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain mission-critical applications using Assembler (HLASM) on IBM mainframes.
- Enhance and support Credit Card Authorization systems, ensuring high availability and performance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams for system design, analysis, and performance tuning.
- Write and optimize complex COBOL programs and JCL scripts for batch processing.
- Design and maintain CICS transactions and online programs for card authorization services.
- Troubleshoot issues and resolve production incidents with minimal downtime.
- Ensure compliance with security, audit, and regulatory requirements related to card transactions.
Required Skills:
- 7+ years of experience in Mainframe development
- Strong hands-on experience in Assembler (HLASM) programming
- Proficiency in COBOL, JCL, and CICS
- Solid understanding of Credit Card Authorization, transaction routing, and host systems
- Experience working in high-volume, real-time payment environments
- Familiarity with debugging tools like Expeditor, File-Aid, etc.
- Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines in a production environment
Nice to Have:
- Experience with IBM MQ, DB2, or VSAM
- Exposure to PCI compliance and card network integrations (Visa, MasterCard, etc.)
- Prior experience in financial services or payment processing platforms
