Position Summary

Echo NDE is a wholly owned subsidiary of Rockwood Service Corporation and provides full service non-destructive testing, inspection, and integrity services throughout North America.  Our wide array of services is tailored towards maintenance, integrity, construction for both facility and pipeline sectors to a range of industries. Position Details:

Echo NDE is currently seeking a certified NDT Technician with UTI/MT/PT to support our Operations in Edmonton and Calgary, with additional project support throughout Alberta.  

Responsibilities
  • Set up, calibrate, and operate UT, MT, and PT equipment to ensure accurate and reliable inspection results in field conditions. 
  • Perform surface and volumetric NDT Inspections using ultrasonic, magnetic particle, and penetrant testing methods in accordance with approved procedures and applicable codes/standards (e.g., ASME, CSA).
  • Inspect welds, piping, pressure equipment, and structural components for discontinuities and defects. 
  • Interpret and evaluate inspection results against applicable acceptance criteria and clearly communicate findings. 
  • Accurately complete and submit field reports, ensuring all documentation is thorough, organized, and submitted in a timely manner.
  • Maintain a high level of safety awareness in dynamic field environments, adhering to all company and client safety policies and procedures. 
  • Collaborate effectively with clients, operations teams, and other technicians to support efficient project execution.
Requirements
  • Ultrasonic Testing UTI CGSB Certification 
  • Magnetic Particle Testing MTII CGSB Certification 
  • Liquid Penetrant Testing PTII CGSB Certification 
  • Demonstrated experience performing UT, MT, and PT inspections in field environments (oil & gas, pipeline, or industrial settings preferred).
  • Strong working knowledge of applicable codes and standards (e.g., ASME, CSA) and ability to interpret acceptance criteria.
  • Resides locally to Calgary or Edmonton, AB
  • Willingness and availability to support call-out work, including evenings, weekends, and short-notice assignments.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean abstract and ability to travel to various job sites as required.
  • Ability to work independently in fast-paced, high-demand environments with minimal supervision.
  • Strong attention to detail with solid problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Physically fit and capable of working in various environmental conditions (heights, confined spaces, outdoor weather conditions).
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to complete clear and accurate field reports.
