Independent Contractor - Occupational Therapist

Are you a dedicated Occupational Therapist looking for flexible, meaningful work in the community? We are currently seeking a passionate and self-motivated OT to join our team as an Independent Contractor, providing client-centered care in home, school, and community settings.

About the Role

  • As an Independent Contractor Occupational Therapist, you'll conduct in-home and community-based assessments, develop individualized treatment plans, and work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to support clients in reaching their functional goals. You may work with a range of clients, including:

  • Pediatric clients (in-home or school-based services)

  • Adults with complex medical or rehabilitation needs

  • This role offers flexible scheduling, autonomy, and the opportunity to make a direct impact on the lives of your clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct assessments of physical, cognitive, and environmental factors affecting a client's occupational performance.

  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including healthcare providers, school personnel, and equipment vendors.

  • Develop and implement client-centered treatment plans tailored to individual goals and environmental contexts.

  • Apply evidence-based practice and critical thinking to support client independence and participation in daily activities.

Qualifications

  • Registered and in good standing with the College of Occupational Therapists in your province.

  • ADP authorizer status is an asset.

  • Strong clinical reasoning, interpersonal, and communication skills.

  • Familiarity with community resources and health services.

  • Current CPR and First Aid certification (within the last 12 months).

  • Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle required.

  • Clear Vulnerable Sector Screening (VSS).
